03.08.10 | Sennheiser HD555's are around $100 and they have remarkable sound quality. They're actually better than all of the bose headphones I've tried, only they're cheaper so yeah... Don't do what R6 said, that's just asking to have them push some really expensive phones on ya. |

03.08.10 | Damn man I wish I had money right now I'd pick up those 280s. I have the HD555s, absolutely love them. Agree with the best buy thing.
I can't tell you for sure that Sennheiser is the way to go, although I own a pair and literally have zero complaints about them and they sound and feel (comfortwise) unbelievable. Also pretty much everyone who has an opinion on them usually has a pretty favorable one. DON'T go with Bose. Fine enough headphones, but they're way overpriced just because it's a popular name and they advertise being the greatest sound ever, but they're not. Don't go to best buy and ask either, musicaddiction is spot on with that one.

Above shows the prices for the HD 555s, Pro Audio Express has them for 90 as does Sonic Sense. The only problem with HD 555s is they are open-ear. That means the outside of what goes over your ear is not closed, so sound WILL leak out. This usually (always?) means better sound quality when utilized properly, but for some it's a compromise that can not be made.
If open ear does not work for you, I say go with the HD-280s TheNewWhack posted. I've heard awesome things about them as well, and that's the cheapest I've seen them for. In fact, at that price you might even be better off just going with those in the first place.
But dude, don't worry about commenting or posing a review. A lot of people on this site are pretty willing to help out with something like this if you just ask. |
