| My Top 25 Offspring Songs
now granted i'm not as big of and offspring fan as i used to be from age 13-17, i'm trying to start to get back into them, cuz i'm realizing that they were damn good back in the ixnay-americana period; although i think we can all agree that co1 and rfrg have nearly ruined their legacy. and again, like most of my other lists, i'll emphasize that these are MY top offspring songs, so if you don't agree w/ my choices, just make your own list rather than comment and bitch about mine. | | 1 | The Offspring Pay the Man
at first i kinda thought this song was really wierd and would fast-forward through the first 5 minutes. but as i've matured in musical taste (somewhat), i've come to really like the entire 8 minutes of this track. | | 2 | Me & My Old Lady
easily one of the offspring's sickest riffs, and the guitar solo is pretty abnormal for the offspring, but is still sick. | | 3 | What Happened to You
i reall wish the offspring did more ska stuff. this song's the shit, and the solo fits it perfectly. | | 4 | No Brakes
i freakin love the chorus in this song. | | 5 | Don't Pick it Up
again, why didn't the offspring do more ska in their heyday? | | 6 | LAPD
absolutely sick opening guitar riff and an equally awesome solo. | | 7 | Beheaded
such a hilariously messed up song, plus it's good musically. | | 8 | Bad Habit
(see 7's deion) | | 9 | The Kids Aren't Alright
really a well-written song. more or less copied twice w/ "can't repeat" and "you're gonna go far kid" in later albums... | | 10 | Crossroads
an oldie, but a goodie. | | 11 | Have You Ever
yet another two-part offspring song (and one that should probably end w/ a question mark), have you ever has basically the same chorus as "dirty magic," but is still damn good. | | 12 | Cool to Hate
a somewhat novelty song, but a good one nonetheless. | | 13 | DUI
(see 12's deion). also, i really don't understand why the band never actually put this one on a cd, it's damn good, and is the only offspring song ever written by their lead guitarist, noodles. | | 14 | Genocide
really fantastic song off their breakthrough album. | | 15 | Da Hui
although most people hate splinter, i think it had some really punk tracks like this one on it. although the lyrics are nonsense, the riff is pretty agressive and the abrupt hawaiian-ish solo is sick too. | | 16 | Gone Away
very sad, emotional tune. | | 17 | Hammerhead
being that bob rock destroyed rfrg, i HATE how over-produced this track (and the whole album) is. live, though, this song's kick-ass and is easily their best track since americana. | | 18 | The Noose
really a great opening riff and perhaps the briefest (if that's a word) solo in the history of music. | | 19 | Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)
now i know most people shit on this song and a lot of the offspring's singles, but i really like the opening riff in this song and the lyrics are still pretty funny. corny, but funny. | | 20 | The Meaning of Life
much like many of the tracks on ixnay, this song is fast and especially agressive for an offspring tune. | | 21 | Burn it Up
(see 7's deion again). | | 22 | I Choose
the music video is hilarious (although would never be attempted these days), and the song (especially the solo) is good too. | | 23 | Self Esteem
i used to like this song alot more, but it's still pretty fun and hella catchy. | | 24 | Change the World
although the main riff is stolen from genocide, this song is still unique and is a great close to one of the offpring's top albums. | | 25 | Staring at the Sun
(see 23's deion). | |

03.07.10 | @tom79, yea forever and a day would've been next actually but i thought a "top 26" list would be kinda odd haha. and @theacademy, i know pay the man's a love it or hate it kinda song, and i happen to love it, but i understand where you're coming from, cuz i used to really hate it too. | theacademy
03.07.10 | my favorite song from conspiracy is "denial, revisited" but most people don't really dig that song... | chirky
03.07.10 | Fairly solid list... I must be the only person who really, and i mean really enjoy rise and fall, rage and grace... Hammerhead, Takes Me Nowhere, You're Gonna Go Far, Kid, NOTHINGTOWN (my favourite), Shit is messed up are really good songs, i think anyway... They're a bloody good band... | theacademy
03.07.10 | i gave it a 4.5, same as u | Bandido
03.07.10 | Don't really know most of these songs. I've always dug Original Prankster and Come Out Swingin is pretty tight too | Masochist
03.08.10 | I like the depth of the catalog represented here. "No Brakes," "Bad Habit," "Genocide" (my favorite from 'Smash'), "Staring At The Sun," "D.U.I"...all excellent choices!
I have to say that my list would probably also include "All I Want," "Way Down The Line," "Walla Walla," "(Can't Get My) Head Around You," "Cool To Hate," and a few others. Props, though, for the ones mentioned above, as well as "The Kids Aren't Alright," "Hammerhead," "Pretty Fly...," and "Self Esteem." | DeleriumTrigger
03.08.10 | Ugh Offspring = like Afi except the lead singer is ugly and can't sing lol. mmmmm.................. | tom79
03.09.10 | ^ kidding me? | theacademy
03.09.10 | he's sorta quoting another list, a really dumb one.
but they are sorta like afi in a few respects. afi's best work came out of the era where they were on dexter's label.
dexter actually sings background vocals on a couple of track from black sails in the sunset.
offspring's cover of totalimmortal is phenomenal. | sublimefan1991
03.09.10 | @ masochist thanks man, i used to be WICKED into the offspring so i know pretty much every song they've ever done (and i actually physically own all their cd's). i'm glad some other people really appreciate all their songs cuz they're a really good band. also, why hasn't anyone given kudos to their ska stuff - IT'S SO GOOD!!!!!!!! | willfellmarsy
03.09.10 | My Top 25 Songs That Sound Grossly Similar... | sniper
03.09.10 | I've honestly never understood why people like this band. They're not awful, but they aren't very good either. | tom79
03.09.10 | Smash is awesome and that's a fact | qwe3
03.09.10 | holy shit deleriumtrigger needs to stfu | KieranV
03.09.10 | WOT IN DA WORLD HAPPENED 2 UUUU | tvol
08.23.10 | needs more nitro. and how do you honestly make this list without come out and play? and pay the man #1? have you ever actually listened to the offspring or were you just picking titles off the back of a cd? | BigHans
08.23.10 | The best Offspring song is Genocide, followed by MOTA |
