Overwhelming Millions Everyday
In my opinion, I listen to a large variety of music. Maybe not Sudanese Throat Singing, but a bit more than a lot of people. It's strange, then, that I can easily identify one artist as a clear-cut favorite of mine, but there's no doubt that right now (as it has been for the past, oh, eight years or so), Bad Religion takes that top spot, simply because it was their song that I learned all the lyrics to first on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2. This list is a list of my favorite BR songs, in order. I tried to squeeze it down a bit further, but 35 is about as concise as I could get it. Oh, well. |
| 1 | Bad Religion American Jesus
It was popular, it's one of only a small handful of songs co-written by Brett and Greg, it's a hit with both fans and the band, and Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam has a guest spot on guitars and backing vocals. AND it came with arguably BR's best music video to date. Not easily so, but their best song. |
| 2 | Anesthesia
The drawn-out outro makes this song go from awesome to awe-inspiring. |
| 3 | I Want To Conquer The World
The quintessential late 80's punk rock song. That opening guitar squeal is the high point of BR's "Holy Trinity" period. |
| 4 | Sinister Rouge
The energy that these 40-something's put into this song puts every speed-addicted college dropout to shame. |
| 5 | Come Join Us
Greg's best song with the band, IMO. Songs like this helped make 'The Gray Race' their most accomplished work of the post-Brett era (well, I guess now it would be the pre-post-post Brett era). |
| 6 | Heroes and Martyrs |
| 7 | You
I'm willing to bet that at least 65% of BR's fans under the age of 25 got into the band because of this song. |
| 8 | Let Them Eat War
I would've never thought that they could get away with having a rap lyric in their song, but not only did they get away with it, but it's one of their absolute best songs. Then again...Sage Francis is a beast, so perhaps I should've expected it. |
| 9 | Generator |
| 10 | Who We Are
You guys ought to check out the fan-made video to this song, it's better than most official BR videos:

| 11 | Beyond Electric Dreams
Hahaha...have your dictionary ready...;-) |
| 12 | New Dark Ages |
| 13 | Broken
Single aside, this might be their most underrated song except for "Boot Stamping On A Human Face Forever." |
| 14 | Epiphany |
| 15 | Modern Man
"Here's a song with attitude." |
| 16 | Infected |
| 17 | Cease
The piano version of this from 'Live At The Palladium' was that concert's highlight. So damn pretty! |
| 18 | Materialist |
| 19 | Tiny Voices |
| 20 | Before You Die |
| 21 | 10 In 2010 |
| 22 | Struck A Nerve |
| 23 | Supersonic
Lots of YouTube videos featuring a certain video game character that use this song ;-) |
| 24 | Sorrow
Still can't believe Jon Foreman of Switchfoot covered this song acoustically. I like him, but the cover ain't all that good. |
| 25 | Punk Rock Song
My first "favorite" Bad Religion song. |
| 26 | All There Is
Some of their best lyrics are in this song ("There's space for a paper airplane race in the eye of a hurricane"), and that chorus! |
| 27 | Boot Stamping On A Human Face Forever
This song got me to check out '1984', which is now one of my favorite books. |
| 28 | Along The Way |
| 29 | Flat Earth Society |
| 30 | We're Only Gonna Die
An absolute punk classic. So timeless that Sublime covered it over 20 years later. |
| 31 | Incomplete |
| 32 | Skyscraper
Yet another severely underrated song. |
| 33 | Heaven Is Falling |
| 34 | The New America
Poppy as hell, but I can't deny its catchiness. |
| 35 | Get Off |
|
