Battle Of The Bands [Quarter-Final 5]

Quarter-final 5. Radiohead won the last round. Here's the next round, and this one should be pretty interesting. The rules: - Each round there will be three bands - The band who receives the most votes (via comments) moves on to the next round. - Each round lasts 24 hours. - Only one vote each round per member. - There were preliminary rounds, these are quarter-finals, and next are the semi-finals, and finally the finals - In the event of a tie, a faceoff will occur between the disputed albums. - The final two will be an EPIC SHOWDOWN! So, let's get started: NOTE: The 'average sputnik rating' I get by adding all of the bands album ratings together and averaging them out.
1Buckethead

ROUND 13 WINNER -- Latest album: Shadows Between The Sky / Average Sputnik rating: 3.49 / The enigma known as Buckethead has confused many a person. Even as an avid fanboy, I can honestly say that I understand why people are so off-put by him. It?s a freakishly tall man with long curly hair wearing an upturned KFC bucket on his head and a Michael Myers-esque mask. While he is known as a very talented multi-instrumentalist he?s just as prone to manic, high energy solos as he is to breaking out his nunchuks and robot dancing. A lot of people just know him as the ex-guitarist for the ?new? Guns ?n? Roses. If one looks deeper, however, they?ll find that Buckethead?s not just incredibly technically talented but he?s also one of the most creative, versatile, and quirky musicians out there today. I beseech all of you to keep an open mind. If you?ve heard one of his albums and have been turned off by it, keep reading and give an album that sounds more your style a chance. If you only know him from Guns ?n? Roses, keep reading and step into his world. If you?ve only vaguely heard of him, keep reading as you might find something that you love. Plus you can act pretentious when people have never heard of him! High-fives all around!
2Pink Floyd

ROUND 14 WINNER -- Latest album: Pulse DVD / Average Sputnik rating: 3.71 / Pink Floyd can safely be tagged as one of the most successful bands of all time, and even now, some forty years after their debut, they are still loved the world over. They were one of the most important and influentual British progressive rock acts of the seventies (along with Genesis and Yes), and were instrumental in defining the "Space Rock" subgenre of the progressive movement. Worldwide album sales are estimated between 175 and 200 million.
3The Dillinger Escape Plan

ROUND 15 WINNER -- Latest album: Ire Works / Average Sputnik rating: 3.61 / The Dillinger Escape Plan is a experimental mathcore band that integrates metal, hardcore, free jazz, varying time signatures, and electronic samples. They are known for the intensity and too close for comfort violence of their live shows, which have been known to feature stage-diving and fire-breathing. The band is rumored to choose their music's time signatures with the aid of dice, or with the use of some kind of code, but this is purely speculation. What isn't speculation is their technical prowess.
