| More Albums I Want/Bands I want To Get Into
Here's some more bands I just recently found out about/ finally started to get into. It took a while but sputnik finnally convinced me that bands like converge and DEP are worth listening too, o and Karnivool is pretty damn good...o and the pictured album is the one I want to get (maybe) | 1 | | Karnivool Themata
Hated the name Karnivool at first and decided I was never going to listen to them because of that but I ended up Hearing them for the first time yesterday and they unexpectedly blew me away. Really like their vocalist. Sounds somewhat but not too much like tool which is a good thing (the music not ian whatshisname). Anyways figured Themata would be the best place to start. | 2 | | Karnivool Sound Awake
Same as above but heard 3-4 songs off this album and they were just as good if not better than the ones I heard off Themata. Goliath and Deadman kill. | 3 | | Converge Axe To Fall
It took a while but sputnik finally got me to try to pick them up, they still haven't totally clicked yet but they're alot better than when I first heard them. Axe to Fall seemed alot more accesible than Jane Doe so I want to pick this one up first. | 4 | | Thrice Vheissu
Same thing as converge, might take a while to click but who knows, haven't heard as much from Thrice as the others but I still want to check them out. Gotta say though, image of the invisible is just an awfully annoying song. | 5 | | The Dillinger Escape Plan Miss Machine
Not entirely sure where to start with these guys but I was thinking Miss Machine. First heard about them when they were playing wish with nine inch nails during their last tour, looking forward to hearing one of their albums but they do sound alot like converge to me. | |

02.17.10 | i'm listening to sound awake for the first time right now | JWT155
02.17.10 | All great stuff man. | Slipping Away
02.17.10 | Actually thinking of picking up petitioning the sky before axe to fall now... it sounds a little easier on the ears | theacademy
02.17.10 | gotta say, all these bands are worth spending a lot of time on... | cvlts
02.17.10 | imo id rec You Fail Me for easy access to Converge.
to easily get into 5 then yea id rec Miss Machine or Ire Works... but if you can get into Calculating Infinity then you will love all of their stuff afterwards. | tiesthatbind
02.17.10 | For Karnivool, definitely go with Themata first, it's a better album imo and definitely a lot easier to get into.
As for Thrice: Vheissu, Image of the Invisible is the only song that sounds like that, don't judge on that song alone, try the rest of it out; the album seriously grows on you over time. | TomServo
02.17.10 | The rest of Vheissu is so much better than image of the invisible it's not even funny. That song always felt like something that the label probably pushed because they wanted a single.
Also, I would recommend starting with artist in the ambulance or illusion of safety and going from there. | coneren
02.17.10 | 1 is something I want to hear | Slipping Away
02.17.10 | yeah thats what it sounded like to me...that song just seems really out of place | smiff0009
02.17.10 | don't judge vheissu on image of the invisible. | tiesthatbind
02.17.10 | Image of the Invisible is something that could have been on Artist in the Ambulance. Not that it's bad, I like the song, but the rest of Vheissu is much more progressive/experimental. By the end of the album I had pretty much forgotten IOTI. | Slipping Away
02.21.10 | heh...im actually starting to like IOTI |
