Battle Of The Bands [Quarter-Final 2]

Quarter-final 2. Godspeed You! Black Emperor won the last round, beating out RX Bandits and Circle Takes The Square. The rules: - Each round there will be three bands - The band who receives the most votes (via comments) moves on to the next round. - Each round lasts 24 hours. - Only one vote each round per member. - There were preliminary rounds, these are quarter-finals, and next are the semi-finals, and finally the finals - In the event of a tie, a faceoff will occur between the disputed albums. - The final two will be an EPIC SHOWDOWN! So, let's get started: NOTE: The 'average sputnik rating' I get by adding all of the bands album ratings together and averaging them out.
1Cannibal Corpse

ROUND 4 WINNER --
Latest album: Evisceration Plague / Average Sputnik rating: 3.46 / Cannibal Corpse is an American death metal band, formed in Buffalo, New York in 1988. The band has released eleven studio albums, one boxed set, and one live album. Although Cannibal Corpse has had virtually no radio or television exposure, a cult following began to build behind the group with albums such as 1991's Butchered at Birth and 1992's Tomb of the Mutilated. Cannibal Corpse reached over 1 million in record sales worldwide in 2003, including 558,929 in the United States, making them one of the biggest selling death metal bands of all time.
2Thrice

ROUND 5 WINNER -- Latest album: Beggars / Average Sputnik score: 3.76 /The California-based quartet, who?ve also been busy of late making high-profile main stage appearances at the Coachella, Reading & Leeds and Bamboozle festivals, have followed the New Pantheon Award-nominated Vheissu?s radical metamorphosis with The Alchemy Index, a four-volume collection spread between two releases comprised of four EPs, each devoted to one of the classical elements in nature?fire, water, earth and air?with each EP sonically and thematically tailored to evoke the atmosphere inherent in its corresponding element. This fall marks the release of the first two volumes of the series?Fire & Water?while Earth & Air are scheduled for a spring debut. For Thrice, it?s the realization of a year-long process of writing and recording, which was done primarily in the band?s own studio and engineered by guitarist Teppei Teranishi, without the assistance of an outside producer.
3Isis

ROUND 6 WINNER -- Latest album: Wavering Radiant / Average Sputnik rating: 3.68 / Isis are a metal band from Boston that create incredibly dense music. While their influence is mainly extreme music (metal, hardcore), their music has just as much ambience and atmosphere to it as it does raw agression and complexity. The band layer different types of sounds into their music to create the thick signature sound that is their own. Isis' vocals are a mix of shouting, screaming and singing. The easiest and most obvious band to compare Isis to is Neurosis. Isis formed in 1997 and released their brilliant full length debut album in the year 2000, "Celestial". They later released their second and third albums, "Oceanic" and "Panopticon".
