The Fall Of Troy - Top 25 Songs
Really digging this band of late. The Self-titled and Ghostship Demos raped this list. I only
included my favorite version of each of the songs recorded twice, including the Phantom on the
Horizon EP. |
25 | | The Fall of Troy The Last March of the Ents
Can't think of anything to say. Great song. |
24 | | The Fall of Troy The Adventures of Allan Gordon
A simpler song for TFOT that relies more on it's frightening atmospherics. The instrumental portions are
nice and frantic. |
23 | | The Fall of Troy Chapter III: Nostalgic Mannerisms
This one drags a bit but is still solid despite being the weakest Ghostship song. |
22 | | The Fall of Troy A Man. A Plan. A Canal. Panama.
It's awesome at first but it drags for a few minutes towards the end. |
21 | | The Fall of Troy Nobody's Perfect
I think i'm the only one on sputnik that really likes this song. The soft-loud contrast actually works really
well imo. |
20 | | The Fall of Troy Straight-Jacket Keelhauled
Wish ITUE had more songs like this. |
19 | | The Fall of Troy Laces Out, Dan!
Short and insane. |
18 | | The Fall of Troy Seattlantis
Solid song off of Manipulator. |
17 | | The Fall of Troy F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X.
You know this had to be here. |
16 | | The Fall of Troy Battleship Graveyard
The vocals may be off, but this is one of the few songs off of ITUE that reminded me of their older stuff.
Great song if you can get past the vocals. |
15 | | The Fall of Troy Rockstar Nailbomb!
This song is just a blast to listen to. I miss the energy of their older albums. |
14 | | The Fall of Troy Ex-Creations
Holy shit guitar. |
13 | | The Fall of Troy Chapter II: A Strange Conversation
Possibly the most Chaotic ghostship song. Awesome. |
12 | | The Fall of Troy The Hol[ ]y Tape
Best original song on Doppelganger. Some thunderous meaty riffs in this one. The ambient ending always
seemed like a bit of a buzzkill though. |
11 | | The Fall of Troy Walk of Fame
See deion for 10 but replace Manipulator with In the Unlikely Event. |
10 | | The Fall of Troy Sledgehammer
Best song on Manipulator quite easily. It's like a delicious cake made of guitar wankery. |
9 | | The Fall of Troy Mouths Like sidewinder Missiles (ST)
This one just makes me want to dance. Awesome guitar solo at the end as well. |
8 | | The Fall of Troy Macauly McCulkin (ghostship)
I enjoy this version way more than the one of Doppelganger. The energy infused within it is immense, and
the screaming is probably among Erak's best. The jazzy breakdown towards the end works very well. |
7 | | The Fall of Troy I Just Got This Symphony Goin' (ST)
SCREAM OUT MY NAME |
6 | | The Fall of Troy Ghostship Part I
The build up at the beginning makes the initial attack of the song that much more powerful. |
5 | | The Fall of Troy Ghost Ship Part IV
Seems to be the general favorite Ghostship song, and it's easy to see why. This one's full of energy and
features one of TFOT's best riffs. Plus it's structured more like an actual song and is catchy as hell. |
4 | | The Fall of Troy Reassurance Rests in the Sea
The guitar is absolutely ridiculous on this one, and then there's the serene bass bridge... |
3 | | The Fall of Troy Ghostship Part V
The Ghostship demos are extremely difficult to rank, but this is probably my favorite one. From the rapid-
fire riffs and drumming to the extremely upbeat finale, this song is a treat. |
2 | | The Fall of Troy What Sound Does a Mastodon Make?
Th first few minutes are batshit insane. Then just when you don't think it could get any crazier, you're
treated with the frantic "SO TELL ME, WHERED YOU GET THOSE PRETTY LITTLE EYES" bridge with the
bizarre cheaps of Erak's girlfriend's vocals behind them. And then the band just breaks lose with a
postiviely broly brodown. Fucking awesome. The only reason this doesn't get first is because the second
half of the song isn't quite as good as the first half. |
1 | | The Fall of Troy The Circus That Has Brought Us Back to These Nights (Yo Chocola)
TFOT may not be known as the most emotional of bands, but there is actual substance felt behind this
song. Erak's screams are powerful and impassioned, and the instrumentation thunders behind him. The
tapping break is pretty sweet as well, and this song manages to package everything TFOT does right in just
over 3 minutes. Perfect song. |
