They surprisingly owned live

Five bands that owned live when I saw them. I don't care how they sounded on youtube or anywhere else, they were incredible when I saw them.
1Atreyu

Bring on the hate...absolutely incredible sound. Alex brought out some intense yells, Brandon was at the top of his game vocally and the guitarists were just amazing. Dan played an intense sweeping solo between songs and their set list was great. (10/23/06)
2Trivium

Had heard some bad things about them on Sounds of the Underground regarding sound quality. With low expectations I was plesantly surprise. Heafy's vocals sounded good live, nice choices for the set list and the guitar playing was a real treat. Plus they broke out in about a minute of Master of Puppets and the pits got CRAZY! (7/17/06)
3Chiodos

You know how sometimes when you go to a show and you are unfamiliar with the opening band you check them out? Well regardless I did that with Chiodos and was not quite into them. After seeing them live they blew my mind. Their vocalist sounded incredible, his sustains were spot on. They do some really cool stuff instrumentally if you pay very close attention and were a very tight act. (10/23/06)
4Motion City Soundtrack

Now before you pre-judge I will say I was expecting them to be good. They were not good, they were great. It was the end of Warped and after a summer of touring and playing a 40 minute set (at my date at least) I thought they would lose some energy. NOPE, they handled it like pros. Such a blast to listen to their music live, pop punk at some of its finest moments. (8/10/06)
5The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Sometimes these new bands can be a hit or miss live. RJA was a hit. Played on a smaller stage but still got the crowd going. Ronnie's vocal transitions were darn near flawless as were his vocals on both ends. The band could have used a little more energy themselves but their sound gave off a respectable amount. Very tight live act, can't wait to catch them on Take Action. (8/10/06)
