02.07.10 | For black metal start with Bergtatt by Ulver. One of the best black metal albums ever and pretty easy to get into. |

02.07.10 | 1. Ulver- Bertgatt was a good rec by hawks, its easily one of the most accesible classic BM albums.
2. Anything by Aphex Twin.
3. DJ Shadow- ...Endtroducing
4. Death-Human or Sound of Perserverance. Both are really good yet accesible to fans outside the genre.
5. Black Flag- Damaged |

02.07.10 | Honestly, In Flames would be a good place to start if you're trying to get into death metal (early albums). They're a very watered down, more mainstream version of death metal, which would be perfect for you. |

02.07.10 | 1. In Vain - Mantra. Definitely not black metal, but has many black metal elements, and it's what got me interested in the genre. Or:
Ulver - Bargtatt - Just an amazing album, and I'm starting to love black metal because of it.
4. Death - Symbolic
Death - Human
Atheist - Unquestionable Presence
Decapitated - Winds of Creation
Carcass - Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious
Be'lakor - Stone's Reach

02.08.10 | Not gonna buy Bergtatt when it will cost me at least 13 bucks. |
Athom
02.08.10 | 1. I would say that the most accessible album is Ulver's Bergtatt. Not only does it have all the atmosphere and edge of Black Metal at it's best in easy to swallow doses, it is a fucking classic. JUST GET IT!
3. DJ Shadow - Endtroducing
4. At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul and Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God (for Melodic Death Metal), Death - Symbolic (for your standard Death Metal), Suffocation - Effigy of the Forgotten (for Brutal Death Metal), and if you want to try it at it's most jarring Ulcerate - Everything Is Fire |
