Dark Tranquillity - Fiction Ranked

Probably their second best album behind The Gallery. I've also decided that this is the hardest album to rank ever. If I listened again right now it'd probably be different but this is generally what it is.
1Dark Tranquillity
Blind At Heart

this
my personal favorite on the album. The album's best guitar solo is also featured on this track. Really
pumps me up this track does.
2Inside the Particle Storm

The imagery portrayed by the lyrics fit the doomy, at times downright evil atmosphere the music
creates.
The bridge is very Opethian (a good thing). Can't really think of anything else to say, amazing song.
3Misery's Crown

he clean singing is very well-done in the verses, and the lead in to the chorus makes it even more
powerful. One of the album's simplest songs, but without a doubt the most moving. That's saying
something for a melodic death metal band.
4Focus Shift

The first single and shortest song on the album. This is probably the song that most resembles the
band's
older sound as well as gothenberg melodic death metal as a whole. This song features the best riffs on
the
album and is ridiculously catchy. A song that I feel gets under-appreciated.
5Nothing to No One

One of the rare occasions where the verse of the song supercedes the chorus, at least in my opinion.
The
verses really rev me up, and while the chorus definitely would be a crowd favorite at live concerts, it
doesn't seem quite as powerful as it could be on the cd.
6Empty Me

These next few songs are the most difficult for me to order. I absolutely love the chorus and riffing
during
the verse here, but it doesn't make the top 5 because the bridge with the keys is a little too drawn out.
7Terminus (Where Death is Most Alive)

When the album initially came out, this was my favorite. It's a tailor-made single really, from the
infectious riffs to the shout-along chorus. It begins to lose it's original charm after a while but it's still
a great track.
8The Mundane and the Magic

I must be the only person on the site that doesn't consider this one of the album highlights. It's really
good, sure, but it's not as powerful to me as say, "My Negation."
9Icipher

One of the album's best choruses here, but the lyrics turn me off slightly. Nice solo though.
10The Lesser Faith

I feel bad putting this at the bottom because it's still an excellent song, but it lacks any real stand-out
element.
