Another Pointless List; Jon Foreman This Time...
I just downloaded all four of Jon Foreman's EP's. The set quite surprisingly blew away my semi-high expectations. With that, here's a list of all of the Folk-ish/Acoustic/Bluegrass/Country/Soft Rock/Jeff Buckley albums I own, and then a few that I want. Enjoy. |
| 1 | | Aaron Sprinkle Lackluster
I'm going to grab that new Fair album as soon as I can. |
| 2 | | Anchor & Braille Felt |
| 3 | | Bob Dylan Bringing It All Back Home
"It's okay, Ma...I'm only bleeding" *Ba-dung-do-DA-badun-do, badun-do, badun-do...* |
| 4 | | Bon Iver For Emma, Forever Ago
Because if you're on Spuntnik and you like Folk, this is required listening |
| 5 | | Damien Rice 9 |
| 6 | | Damien Rice O |
| 7 | | Deana Carter The Story of My Life
Country singer famous for her rendition of "Strawberry Wine." This c.d. is the only modern country album I own. |
| 8 | | Dustin Kensrue Please Come Home
Because I'm a huge fan of Thrice |
| 9 | | Good Old War Only Way To Be Alone
Because I'm a huge fan of Days Away |
| 10 | | Greg Graffin Cold As The Clay
Because I'm a huge fan of Bad Religion |
| 11 | | Iron and Wine Around The Well |
| 12 | | Jeff Buckley Grace
LOVE the title track |
| 13 | | John Frusciante The Empyrean
One of the top 5 albums of 2009 for me |
| 14 | | Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison |
| 15 | | Johnny Cash At San Quentin |
| 16 | | Jon Foreman Fall and Winter
The inspiration for the list. There's been so much snow falling lately; nothing is more comfortable than just sitting in a comfortable chair with a book and this type of music on as the world turns white just a few inches of wall away. |
| 17 | | Jon Foreman Spring and Summer
Just as awesome as Fall and Winter. I don't think I have a favorite EP out of the four (considering that I just got them today). By the way...I think everyone ought to check these out. Jon Foreman's voice lends itself ridiculously well to the type of music he creates here. |
| 18 | | Neutral Milk Hotel In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
I've been getting into this a lot over the past few months. I don't see how people call it boring; it's some of the most upbeat and interesting acoustic music I've ever heard. |
| 19 | | Nickel Creek This Side
The first Folk-ish album I ever fell in love with (more Bluegrass, but no one cares). |
| 20 | | Nickel Creek Why Should The Fire Die? |
| 21 | | Simon and Garfunkel Bookends
"Fakin' It" was written about me, I promise... |
| 22 | | Simon and Garfunkel Bridge Over Troubled Water |
| 23 | | Elliott Smith From A Basement On The Hill
These last three albums are ones that I don't have yet, but will get soon. I've heard "Pretty (Ugly Before)" off of this one, and it's really damn cool, so this'll probably be the Elliott Smith album I get first. |
| 24 | | Nick Drake Pink Moon
Would this be good for a start? |
| 25 | | William Fitzsimmons Until When We Are Ghosts
My roommate loves William Fitzsimmons, and has a couple of his albums, so I'll probably grab them from him sometime soon. |
