01.18.10 | Ranked with their "serious" BM period in mind with the perhaps controversial inclusion of Soulside Journey above Under a Funeral Moon, I honestly believe that album is a near flawless death metal album (the keyboards in the last track bother me though), then some of their lesser known stuff I think is equally good. I don't think they had any outright awful albums apart from Goatlord, which was a compilation of early recordings of what was to be A Blaze In The Northern Sky as a death metal album or something. Their crust period is a lot of fun in my opinion, I like The Cult Is Alive a hell of a lot more than F.O.A.D. or Dark Thrones and Black Flags though. |
