01.12.10 | Great list dude, I posted mine a few hours back and it has a lot of the albums you have here. |
Poet
01.12.10 | Sputnik jizzes over this list.
No Rome makes me very =( Jeff. |
jrowa001
01.12.10 | abr was pretty good jwt, but i just fell short of making the list.
yeah Miike Snow was a great debut
i will look at your jingle, i didnt see it.
sorry Poet, the new Rome kind of bored me, but it had its moments |
DDconjoined
01.12.10 | this is good. my top 10 are mostly in here. But no Baroness, Rishloo or devildriver???? |
PerditionTheElder
01.12.10 | This list must have taken up all your free time since New Year's. Anyway, I bet any music mag or site would praise you for your selection of top 10 |
jrowa001
01.12.10 | ddconjoined, new baroness was bland, rishloo was good but not great, devildriver i havent heard but would doubt i would like it
perdition, it didnt take me that long ti make this. today was the first day i had a chance to order my albums
EDIT: completely forgot about Karnivool. replaced Polly Scattergood with it |
jrowa001
01.12.10 | this year was also a great year for new discoveries of lesser known bands and female artists. too much goodness this year |
Dryden
01.12.10 | 3,11,14,19,29,32,36,37,44,46,65,66,68,88,92 |
Eskate87
01.12.10 | i can dig it, not manchester orchestra though? |
jrowa001
01.12.10 | i liked the Manchester Orchestra album but just didnt feel like it was one i could put on this list |
BallsToTheWall
01.12.10 | Rishloo, Baroness, and Devildriver's new albums were awful. Karnivool sounds awful in concept but never ehard them. Good list sir. |
jrowa001
01.12.10 | Karnivool are like a more standard progressive rock version of Tool. vocals are great
thanks Balls. i am surprised i havent gotten shit for no Panopticon... |
Jethro42
01.12.10 | Excellent list man. Really. |
greg84
01.12.10 | The list lacks Future Of The Left, Therapy? and The Paper Chase. Props for putting Clutch and Mastodon so high. |
jrowa001
01.13.10 | umm....it is my list so it isnt missing any albums haha. someone needs Clutch in their list |
GnarlyShillelagh
01.13.10 | I really dislike 3 and 4 being so high, but that's just a very personal bias.
Disappointed at the lack of Mono as well, but maybe Post-Rock just isn't your thing. Other than that, sweet list :D |
jrowa001
01.13.10 | im sorry two really good albums that were popular on this site made my list. i love post-rock but honestly i just didnt listen to a whole lot of new post-rock. i liked the new Mono a lot, but only listened to it a couple times. |
Zoo
01.13.10 | Lots of nasty here and it's good to see Long Distance Calling on a list. Kind of surprised to not see Mono or Do Make Say Think. Did you ever hear If These Trees Could Talk? I'd think that'd be here if you did. |
jrowa001
01.13.10 | yeah Long Distance Calling was really the only new post-rock album i listened to on a regular basis this year. i am sure if i listened to Mono more it wouldve been here. i havent listened to that Trees Could Talk album or the Do Make Say Think. post-rock wasnt really on my agenda this year. unless i was in the mood for GY!BE |
Phil
01.13.10 | I prefrered Ki over Addicted but I'm glad that both are very high. Have you listened to any of Nick Cave and Warren Ellis's soundtracks? |
jrowa001
01.13.10 | yeah i have all their soundtracks. all are amazing. The Road i only have listened to a couple times and i havent seen the movie yet, so i plan on raping that soundtrack after i see the movie. |
DaveyBoy
01.13.10 | Great list Jeff. So diverse. I wish I could listen to as much music as you did. |
DaveyBoy
01.13.10 | BTW, why haven't you given reviewing a shot? |
jrowa001
01.13.10 | haha i had a lot of free time to listen to music this year when i never went to class.
i always think about writing a review then i remember i hate writing and i have a horrible vocabulary and no real training in music so i tend to get technical terms wrong. i can barely get myself to write an essay for a class. i have a few albums that i would like to see reviewed but my motivation to write one is zero |
DaveyBoy
01.13.10 | I wouldn't worry about the technical terms too much... I don't. I prefer reviews that simply spell out what the author is thinking anyway.
I guess it does come down to the motivational aspect though. Surprise me one day. |
Willie
01.13.10 | How are we not musical neighbors? |
DDconjoined
01.13.10 | ok fair enough on Baroness, that was a pretty common comment (bland) Not a fan of Maudlin either?? I thought that was a top 100 album..props for Giant Squid, I actually forgot bout that one..
never heard of 1.. whats it like?? |
lobby
01.13.10 | Great List

jrowa001
01.13.10 | one day you will be surprised davey
i have no clue Willie! like the list?
ddconjoined, the maudlin album just didnt have the same effect on me that their previous albums did. Soap&Skin is a female artist from Austria who writes dark electro pop. very emotional music that can be rather haunting. her vocals are superb. check her out
thanks lobby! |
jrowa001
