| Top 10 All Time Favez
From when I began listening to hardcore/metal/grind/what-have-you | 1 | Between the Buried and Me
The reason I'm a musician/metal lover. Love their style of song writing, and dynamics and how diverse they can be in the span of one song. Flawless. Album in Particular: The Silent Circus | 2 | The Number Twelve Looks Like You
Fast, heavy, melodic, soothing, grindtastic. Wonderful. Album in Particular: nuclear.sad.nuclear | 3 | Genghis Tron
Electronic technicality without lacking brutality. Beautifully unique. Album in Particular: Cloak of Love for sheer random grindy beauty, Boarding Up the House for overall perfection | 4 | Converge
Highly influential band in my metalcore development. Timeless. Album in Particular: Petitioning the Empty Skies | 5 | The Red Chord
My first big death metal influenced band. My biggest initial transition from metalcore/hardcore to much more straight-forward metal. Album in Particular: Fused Together in Revolving Doors | 6 | Fear Before the March of Flames
Also early influence, one of my few favorite bands with clean vocals, especially of this style(mainly a reference to Odd How People Shake clean vocals). Not a huge fan of them since name change. I love range of styles before then; each album is completely different, and still wonderful. Album in Particular: Odd How People Shake | 7 | Rolo Tomassi
Favorite female fronted band, super awesome and mathy/indie/grind loveliness. Mindfuck a minute. Album in Particular: Hysterics | 8 | The Ocean
Use of strings and classical influence/use of counterpoint is wonderful. Eclectic as fuck. Album in Particular: Precambian | 9 | After the Burial
Technical, melancholy, brutal, melodic, epic. Grandiose, even. Album in Particular: Rareform (re-release) | 10 | The Faceless
Just pure fun/technicality. I love their dark style, truly fell in love with Planetary Duality because of the prowess of it's execution as a concept album, and the whole alien aspect. The instrumental track in particular is chilling and probably one of my favorite instrumental tracks by a band with vocals. Album in Particular: Planetary Duality | |

01.17.10 | Between the Buried and Me are AWESOME. They're my favorite band and finally going to see them live next Sunday!
#12 looks like you, my favorite song is "Grandfather," but I have yet to own any of their albums.
The Red Chord, I don't think they're a death metal band and fall in that category that BTBAM and #12 fall under the technical metal/hardcore.
Although I'm more comfortable putting BTBAM as a Progressive Metal band, #12 as a Mathcore band and The Red Chord as simply as a Tech-Metal band.
Make sense? | urrburr
01.22.10 | I suppose, but just from the interviews I've seen with Guy, he considers them to be a sort of hardcore/death metal/grind influenced band, so granted they're no Behemoth, or anything straight forward like that, they still have that definite death influence.
I saw BTBAM for the first time this Monday, with Cynic, Scale the Summit, and the Devin Townsend Project. Fucking amazing.
Yeah, I highly recommend the #12, I'd say starting with nuclear.sad.nuclear. rather than Mongrel, just imo. | theacademy
01.22.10 | dude all time low is GARBAGE lol... | BallsToTheWall
01.22.10 | Somebody certaintly developed their taste in music from sputnik's generic collective.
Mostly kidding, The Red Chord, The ocean, and last Cobverge/BTBAM albums rule. | urrburr
01.22.10 | i agree, all time low is garbage. what does this have to do with this list? i apologize that my taste is too generic for you? haha | theacademy

01.22.10 | Just pulling your chain. Mind my ramblings, I argue with myself on proper conduct on a daily basis. | jagride

01.23.10 | urrburr,
RE: BTBAM show, I read from someone else on the website that their set list included 4-5 of their 10:00 minute plus tracks. Was that the case on Monday when you saw them?
Somebody made the comment that it would've been a 75 minute set list. That can't be the case, right? No way any venue gives BTBAM 75 minutes on stage. Is that what happened on Monday?
Somebody also told me to start #12 Looks like U, by listening to the newest album first and working my way backwards. Now I need a tie-breaker lol |
