Pretty Psyched
Just found out I got a 4.0 for the semester. Which makes me very happy. I'm also psyched by prospect of these releases (official and otherwise) in '10. |
1 | | Eluvium Similes
Didn't know how the addition of vocals would work out, but based on the song I've heard, this seems very promising. |
2 | | Jonsi Birgisson Go
I've just started getting into Sigur Ros, and I liked the Riceboy Sleeps album, so this should fit nicely. |
3 | | In Mourning Monolith
The trailer for this is awesome. So is Shrouded Divine. There you have it. |
4 | | Vampire Weekend Contra
Haven't heard the stream yet, but what I've heard on the radio (college station, of course) has been pretty sweet. |
5 | | East of the Wall Ressentiment
Liked their contribution to the split with Rosetta & Year of No Light. Can't speak for Biclops, but if the reunited group is anything like the Postman Syndrome, this should be amazing. |
6 | | Fear Factory Mechanize
As long as it's not Digimortal, it's probably going to be good. Also, the cover is sweet. |
7 | | Beastie Boys Hot Sauce Committee, Part I
Alright guys! You beat cancer! Howsabout celebrating with a good album? |
8 | | Dark Tranquillity We Are the Void
These guys have always released solid albums, so I think this should follow suit. |
9 | | Secret & Whisper Teenage Fantasy
Yes, they sound like Saosin. They sound more like Saosin than Saosin does these days. Any port in a storm, right? |
10 | | Christopher Lee Symphonic Metal Concept Album about Charlemagne.
That's right, the Christopher Lee from the horror movies. Saruman the White. Count Dooku. And a direct descendant of Charlemagne, apparently. Making a symphonic metal album. Seriously. |
11 | | Hammock Chasing After Shadows...Living with the Ghosts
I have yet to hear a Hammock song that isn't absolutely beautiful. |
12 | | Rosetta A Determinism of Morality
Ditto. Once again, excellent contribution to the split EP. Who knew you could make a Disintegration-era Cure song sound even darker? |
13 | | Circle Takes the Square ?
I keep hearing about their long-awaited new album, but never catch any firm details. |
14 | | Deftones ?
I know they shelved Eros (understandably), and that they have a different one in the works. But that's it. |
15 | | Explosions in the Sky ?
Another band that I keep hearing has a nearly-complete album kicking around somewhere. Call them overly formulaic, but I'm a sucker for that formula and damn if they don't know how to make it work. |
16 | | Cynic ?
I know it's just an EP, and the majority of it will consist of songs from Traced in Air, but the fact that Cynic has decided to release anything at all before vanishing into the ether for another decade-plus intrigues me. |
17 | | +44 ?
I know they had a tentative 2010 release scheduled, but I'm not sure exactly how the re of Blink has affected that. I hope they stick to it, because I actually think Delonge has always sort of been the Achilles' heel of the band anyway. It's that voice. And the arrogance. |
18 | | Underoath ?
Nothing official (that I know of). It just seems like they're about due. |
19 | | Finch ?
What's going on with these guys? I heard their new demo last Summer, but almost nothing since then. |
20 | | Shutter Island Finally
Yup, after all those delays, it's coming to theaters. The novel was excellent, and Scorsese knows a thing or two about excellence himself, so here's hoping everything gels. |
21 | | Lost Season 6
The big finish, with the whole gang reunited to boot. I'm calling it now: they're all Cylons. |
