intothepit83 01.05.10	i know i know..... despised icon and the red chord aren't necessarily considered "metalcore" but i kind of lump in deathcore with metalcore myself, so fuckin deal with it
bloc 01.05.10	i enjoyed Broadcast the Nightmare. check them out.
Inveigh 01.05.10	I'm not sure I consider Devildriver metalcore, I have no problem with lumping deathcore and metalcore together. Not the order I'd put these albums in, though I'm still waiting on my copy of Ox to be shipped. Good list nonetheless. And you know I'd have 6 at #1.. seeing it so low saddens me. I only heard that Caliban album once, but I remember it being brutal as cheese.

sspedding 01.05.10	some of these would be in my list but i would omit Despised Icon and Evergreen Terrace definitely. I would add Architects and Oh, Sleeper despite the hate that received.

intothepit83 01.05.10	eh, taste is subjective. i just think architects sound like a heavier version of bring me the horizon(whom i absolutely, positively, no doubt about it, detest!) and oh, sleeper just sounds generic to me, that's all...

Inveigh 01.05.10	can't say I've listened to much Architects, Oh, Sleeper or BMtH, but from what I've heard I don't much care for them (although there was one Architects song I remember liking). I actually haven't heard much off the new Devildriver either, but just from their past stuff, it seems like they're associated with metalcore more than actually ARE metalcore. I would just call them metal. Everyone's been saying Pray for Villains is good, perhaps that goes on my download list.

ThePalaceOfWisdom 01.05.10	1, 2, 7 and 9. And 1 was disappointing compared to the other Converge albums.
intothepit83 01.05.10	self-titled was okay, but i think that album was dez excersizing his nu-metal demons. Fury of our maker's hand was better, and you could see they were going toward more traditional metal. but last kind words showed them at their best, and pray for villains continues it. i mean, dez is almost 43 years old, and the guy is still a fuckin lunatic
Inveigh 01.05.10	um, 6?! even though it's more post-hardcore than metalcore, it's still a damn fine record.
intothepit83 01.05.10	i wasn't disappointed at all by axe to fall. granted, it isn't nearly as good as you fail me or jane doe, but come on, their worst release is still better than most bands best releases
Inveigh 01.05.10	agreed 'pit, I like You Fail Me and Jane Doe more as well, but Axe to Fall was still damn good.
ThePalaceOfWisdom 01.05.10	Yeah but there's certain level of quality I expect from Converge, Axe to Fall seemed half assed compared to there other albums. Also check out Gaza's He Is Never Coming Back. That was probably the highest quality and most underrated album of last year in the genre.
intothepit83 01.05.10	i like gaza's newest a lot, i just don't think it belongs on here personally. granted, i might be a converge fan-boy at times, and my bias attitude towards them probably put them automatically at 1, but still, the album is much better than a lot of shit that bands put out tihs year

Inveigh 01.05.10	They're a German metalcore band that's actually been around for quite some time... although they didn't really make a name for themselves stateside until the last 5-6 years I guess. They're not bad, although I feel like the rip off other people's songs a lot (at least on their older records).
bloc 01.05.10	Caliban is great, i'd recommend it for anyone who likes metalcore
