| Albums That Turned Out Not to Suck
These are albums that I came into thinking "This is going to be the worst sh*t ever"...and I was wrong. Kinda. | | 1 | | Lamb of God Sacrament
I've never been a huge LoG fan, mainly because I thought they were reallll repetitive, and while they were certainly talented, their guitarists failed to show it quite a lot. And I always kinda felt like they were missing something. But that changed with this album sorta. A darker atmosphere is what makes me enjoy this so much, the songs are a bit more varied, and the guitarists actually do solo a bit more, but still not enough. Oh yea, and 'Blacken the Cursed Sun' and 'Walk With Me in Hell' are just plain awesome. | | 2 | | Silversun Pickups Carnavas
Bron got me to check this one out, and I honestly thought that it was going to suck. But that was also because I got my genre's mixed up and thought for a lonngggg time that Indie was some kind of techno hip-hop music....yea, I was wrong. Great muscianship, and an overall enjoyment. | | 3 | | Hatebreed Supremacy
I typically hate hardcore and metalcore, and the two have always seemed to go hand-in-hand in my book. But Hatebreed has been one of the bands of the genre that I can stand, but after listening to their last album, I thought they had nowhere to go but down. I was wrong. This was one fun little album, with great vocals, brutal riffing, and of course that classic Hatebreed feel of "F*CK YOU I CAN DO IT". | | 4 | | Destruction Inventor of Evil
This really should be at #1 on this list, since it surprised me the most and I feel in love with it...however, it isn't up there because I didn't think it was going to suck initially, so hence it's #4. I actually got this album awhile back ago, listened to the first few tracks, and almost barfed. I thought it was horrible thrash-metal, with the vocals sounding like a little school-girl and horrible instrumentals. About a month later, after Deththrasher continued to push how awesome the album was, I gave it another shot. I almost slapped myself. It was amazing this time, and I couldn't believe my ears. The vocals were amazing, and the overall brutality was immense. | | 5 | | Trivium The Crusade
I still don't think this as bad as some people make it out to be on here, but it's still painfully average. But it's better than I expected, so it's on here. It is, in my book, a huge step up from the sh*t infested album called 'The Ascendancy', which was some of the worst music I've ever heard. | |

10.26.06 | I don't know why you would buy albums that you deeply think they will suck. Unless of course you sampled them and then bought them... Lots of metal... | jrowa001
10.26.06 | 1 and 5 are great albums. the crusade has a couple weak tracks and they definitely show off theyre talent but sometimes they try too hard. | SylentEcho
