Dear Fellow Guitarists

I have some ideas, but I'm not sure how exactly to get the sounds that these bands/albums have from their guitars.
1My Bloody Valentine
Loveless

Ah, the shoegaze sound. How does one capture this lushy, swerving, swirling, atmospheric fuzz from a guitar, in a more simple way? I already have a chorus pedal and I'm sure that a reverb and a delay pedal would help.
2Cult of Luna
Salvation

I'm especially interested in that sound at the end of Crossing Over. Many bands use this, especially in the post-rock/metal world, as well as Thrice at the end of Beggars. One of my favorite sounds.
3Explosions in the Sky
The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place

I think I've got this figured out, post-rock in general. Tons of reverb plus some delay. If you haven't noticed yet, I'm looking for a post-metal influenced sound.
