| Top 10 Songs Of 2009
These are the songs that impacted me the most this year as far as grabbed me by the balls and
I instantly loved them. Maybe you will feel the same. Enjoy! | 1 | Mastodon The Czar
My favorite part of this song is in the middle section when the rock comes and it gets very ozzy. "By the
light of the moon...." Plus, the vocal melodies and guitar work throughout the song are well-done. | 2 | Cannibal Corpse Unnatural
The last two Cannibal Corpse albums have been really good. I think Erik Rutan has done a excellent job
with these guys. The groove in this song is what grabs me the most. First time I heard it, I wanted to kill
children. | 3 | Baroness A Horse Named Golgotha
The vocal melodies and guitar work on this are epic and beautiful. My favorite part is that solo towards the
end of the song, the tone of the guitar on that song gets me every time. | 4 | Red Chord Hour of Rats
All I have to say is that riff at a little above the minute mark gives me the chills every time I hear it. A
well-constructed song as well. Just hits you in the face the right way. | 5 | Converge Dark Horse
When I first heard the song "Axe to Fall" in their jam space before the album came out, I thought this was
going to be the track. I couldn't wait. However, I heard that beginning riff in "Dark Horse," and I about
fell out of my sleep. Great album opener. | 6 | Burnt by the Sun Goliath
This is album is really good. If you haven't heard it, you should definitely get it. This song is a balls out
tune from front to finish. Highly recommend it. | 7 | Goatwhore Carving Out the Eyes of God
I know there are mixed reviews about the new Goatwhore, but it is a solid, straight forward metal album
made by metalheads. You can tell these guys play metal because they love it. This song is really good, my
favorite part being the cold, black metal riffage that is in the chorus. | 8 | Kreator Amok Run
Love this song, I listened to it for a week straight and every time I come back to it, my fist is pounding
with fury. I also like how the whole album was recorded live. And the vocals are powerful in this one as
well. | 9 | Kylesa Unknown Awareness
An amazing album front to back. The production is solid. The thing that gets me is the melodies and
landscape the follows the music. An epic song to say the least. | 10 | Church of Misery Badlands
Japanese rockers that write songs about serial killers. This song is really catchy and grooves throughout.
Someone made a good point that made sense to me, it kind of has a little hint of a Tom Waits vibe. But
this a definitely a song to check out for fans of stoner, doom, or rock. | |

12.06.09 | Well, it is variety. And I actually do like more than metal, but that has been all I have been listening to lately. Maybe if you actually gave a few of these songs a shot, you would realize they aren't just metal songs. | Curse.
12.06.09 | People with terrible taste in music are hilarious when they make assumptions about others. | SteelErectedb4you8er
