There were TONS of horrible bands/artists in EVERY decade/generation; it just so happens that the ones people are still listening to and talking about in modern times were the good ones.
Is anyone going to remember the 2000s for Willa Ford and Brokencyde? Fuck no, they probably won't even remember they existed. In 2030 people will be saying, "man, they just don't make metal bands these days like they did in 2005." That's just how it works, people only remember the good shit and that makes it seem like music was better "back in the day."
Also, I understand why you only mentioned the first Danzig album Balls (only one from the 80s), but Danzig II ALWAYS deserves a mention. |
