Top Sad Albums For An Autumn Depressions
Absolute must have. Tears for every tortured soul on me. All listed bands are ! and the order of albums depends on personal experiences (listening Anathema while cutting onion etc.). |
1 | | Antimatter Leaving Eden
Clean acoustic sound. Officially the saddest band of the world and the saddest album of the year (Claim the sticker on CD). But I don't think that first place is so important. Take a look at whole list. If you find just one band that will make you feel worse, my mission is accomplished! |
2 | | ShamRain ShamRain
You won't find this band at Sputnik Music, but their albums are designed to refresh your saddest moments of life. Again - try this album first. It has great intro song - "starring into nothingness". After this one you'll know if you like this band. |
3 | | Klimt 1918 Undressed Momento
Quite unknown band. Their albums change from one to another. This is the one I like the most. True melancholic metal with clean voice and partly Italian verses... Just give a try before you go to the bed. |
4 | | Portishead Dummy
Woman's voice, trip hop beat... well you know them. It's all muddy and sleepy... and terribly sad. Here come the "Sour times" |
5 | | Anathema Alternative 4
This is ultimate saddness... Even when you never experienced how life hurts. This is Melancholy for Dummies! |
6 | | Placebo Without You I'm Nothing
Who can count how many broken hearts and virgin suicides this melancholic music witnessed... It was hard decision between this on and Sleeping with a Ghosts... |
7 | | Katatonia Viva Emptiness
"Katatonia albums are noted for the overall melancholy of their sound, often giving them the classification of doom metal. Katatonia's more recent albums have progressed to a wider sound, with modern overtones, dropped guitars, symphonic synths and arrangements, alternative sounds and generally heavier riffs." What else to say? Viva emptiness! |
8 | | Travis The Man Who
This is the band I grow up with and they can be funny, jolly and rocknroll. But this piece is simply beautiful, poetic and sad. Oh God, "Why Does It Always Rain on Me"? |
9 | | Blackfield Blackfield
Porcupine Tree fans already know this band... this first album is more sad than the second. Just listen to those song like "scars, pain, cloudy now, hole in me..." |
10 | | Damien Rice O
Ok, for all you folk music haters - this quy is sooo sooo sad that even he cries when he sing his songs. "Life, it taught me to die..." |
11 | | Novembre The Blue
Awsome Italian band, singing both English and Italian - true November experience! |
12 | | My Dying Bride Songs of Darkness, Words of Light
Classic. I've chosen this album because I like the cleaner studio sound. But every older piece is good choice for your depression. |
13 | | Cold A Different Kind Of Pain
This album is kinda different than their others (so called "post grunge"). And while name "A Different Kind Of Pain" sounds funny, songs are true break up stuff. |
14 | | Urban Tales Diary of a No
Spanish band, one of the newer. If you survive one rap verse in 5th song you'll get what you downloaded for! Gothic metal sound and cries of damned. |
15 | | Foreshadowing Days Of Nothing
Critical response wasn't so high but what critics know about depressions! They are all sadistic. Back to band: Very nice and (almost) clean gothic doom metal band from Italy! |
