| Need Some Starting Points
Want to get into these bands. Have some of their stuff already but need more. Go. | | 1 | Animal Collective
Got MPP and it's almost a 4. The only songs that catch my attention are My Girls and maybe sometimes Lion In A Coma. | | 2 | Wilco
People hype it but is it worth it? | | 3 | Darkest Hour
Should probably listen to these guys? | | 4 | GYBE
I love Sigur Ros so go ahead and rec whatever post rock I should have. So far my Post Rock is Sigur Ros, DMST, maybeshewill and the new Mono album. | | 5 | Death Metal
Not a band obviously but I'd like to give it a try. I have all In Flames and the new Red Chord album. Probably need some Death, TBDM, Cryptopsy? | |

11.06.09 | For Godspeed maybe start out with Slow Riot, then get F#A# Infinity or LYSFLATH, you can't really go wrong though. | robertsona
11.06.09 | animal collective - feels
wilco - yankee hotel foxtrot or summerteeth
gybe - lift your skinny fists or f#a# | klap
11.06.09 | wilco - summerteeth | Athom
11.06.09 | 1. MPP is easily the easiest AC album to get into. Try Feels though.
2. Summerteeth
3. Deliver Us
4. For a starting point get Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada. It's only 2 tracks but they are 2 of Godspeeds best songs and it's not as mentally draining as Skinny Fists or F#A#.
5. Death - Symbolic, Carcass - Heartwork, At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul, Suffocation - Effigy of the Forgotten, Gorguts - the Erosion of Sanity, Nocturnus - the Key | Tulannical
11.06.09 | animal collective - feels
wilco - summerteeth
gybe - lift your skinny fists
for death metal, check out this list: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=30730&memberid=261672 | FeralMemories
11.06.09 | As for Death Metal, Death is a definite listen. Since you like In Flames, Scar Symmetry might be up your ally as well. Cryptopsy is good for tech death, but do not get their latest album, it's deathcore. TBDM is an excellent starting point to get into as well. More straight up death metal bands to go for would be Entombed and Morbid Angel. | Lelle
11.06.09 | Start with Deliver Us, then try Hidden Hands Of A Sadist Nation | Lelle
11.06.09 | for 3, that is | Chewie
11.07.09 | get F# A# (Infinity) because that should be you're first experience with the band. I get it that Slow Riot is shorter and "easier to digest" but both albums have the same vibe, the only difference is that F# A# (Infinity) is a much more visceral album because its so long. You either will get into the style or not, so if you do, get F# A# (Infinity) because of its length. Not to mention its also better. | feav233
11.07.09 | 4 and 5 is almost all you need | Athom
11.07.09 | well slow riot also has BBF3 which is their best song | MrCalum
11.07.09 | ^ agree
i love moya as well though, definitely my favourite album out of the two
also Skimask showed me a Yndi Halda song, which was a really really good post rock track. | BSX
11.07.09 | Agree with redskyformiles on #3 | bungy
11.07.09 | do i see a nipple in the pic? | Chewie
11.07.09 | BBFIII and Kicking The Horse On Broken Hill(epic part from Providence) are both tied. F# A#(Infinity) is supreme since its longer and because there are so many different vibes throughout the three tracks. Slow Riot is basically one big song, an although its an incredible one, it doesn't compare to how diverse and god damn epic F# A#(Infinity) is. |
