10.13.09 | Not really a horror movie fan myself, but I still can't say I like many of these. The Shining to me is just an average movie saved by a fantastic director, while Cube and Event Horizon are, like a lot of cult favorites, pretty dumb. They Live is corny-awesome though, the fight between Roddy Piper and Keith David is one of the best in movie history. |
Cuban Pete
10.13.09 | Nice. I like a lot of these (1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 13 and 14). List needs The Excorist and An American Werewolf in London. |

10.13.09 | great movie list, especially compared the bs most sputnik people think they know |
cvlts
10.13.09 | if you play warhammer 40k then event horizon was AMAZING. which it was.
yeah The Descent was prty disturbing i thought.
The Shining was all right
for some reason i find Silent Hill to be my 1. jus cause it has every element that a horror film should have. |
ninjuice
10.13.09 | The Shining and The Thing rule.
Event Horizon is ok. |

10.13.09 | neil marshall is a f*cking hack. the descent sucks.

10.13.09 | the ring - scariest fucking movie in the world lol |

10.13.09 | was expecting silent hill after seeing you're profile pic, and was glad it wasn't here. atrocious film of a brilliant game.
the thing is my favourite here. awesome film. |
Gyromania
10.13.09 | in all honesty the decent is the best horror movie i have ever seen. i was wondering if you'd have it on hear. great taste for horrors. |

|
Captain North
10.13.09 | Event Horizon was incredibly bad. |
Yotimi
10.13.09 | The Shining and Audition are great. Check out Lynch's Inland Empire for even more of a mindfuck than Mullholland Drive. I'd also add the original Halloween, Exorcist, and Blair Witch. And Balls, the first half of It ruled, but the second half sucked. |
MUNGOLOID
10.13.09 | they live was okay. i expected much more from it. |
illmitch
10.13.09 | needs more Inside and pre-1990s horror |

10.13.09 | from what i've been told, paranormal activity is piss-your-pants-then-cry-yourself-to-sleep scary |

10.13.09 | blair witch project |
fireaboveicebelow
10.13.09 | paranormal activity was fantastic, blair witch is so fucking stupid though I don't get the comparisions
though yes pre 1990's stuff is required:
cannibal holocaust
eraserhead
ghost story
carnival of souls
anything dario argento did
horror of dracula
creepshow
orson welles' macbeth
the sexorcist
the mephisto waltz
poltergeist
evil dead
there's soooo many others and I'm about to pass out from the shower steam |

10.13.09 | I dig a lot of these movies, especially 1, 2, 3, 8, 13 and 14 but Mullholland Drive is just too ridiculous for me. It doesn't even really make sense. Kind of like Donnie Darko, except not awesome.
Check out:
The Midnight Meat Train
The Omen (original)
Wolf Creek
Frontier(s)
High Tension (up until the end it's pretty awesome)
Inside
If you can't tell, I like foreign horror films. Oh, and Motel Hell is pretty awesome for campy goodness. |
fireaboveicebelow
10.13.09 | mullholand drive rules, midnight meat train is retarded and wolf creek is worse |
Inveigh
10.13.09 | ^i'm sorry but you are wrong. |
fireaboveicebelow
10.13.09 | I don't know a respectable horror fanatic that enjoyed wolf creek even remotely, and how can you say mullholand drive doesn't make sense when the premise of midnight meat train is some guy with scales killing people with hammers to feed lizards |
Inveigh
10.13.09 | well, if you knew much about the horror genre you would know that Midnight Meat Train was based on one of Clive Barker's most well-known short stories.
I wouldn't necessarily call myself a "horror fanatic" but I am a horror fan with a degree in film and Mullholland Drive doesn't make any sense plot-wise (I'm not even sure it's supposed to) although the asthetics are pretty interesting. For a low-budget serial killer/torture movie, Wolf Creek is pretty awesome. I know plenty of respectable movie and horror fans that agree with me (I did go to school with quite a few of them). |
Deviant.
10.13.09 | Mulholland isn't meant to make sense, Lynch left it open ended
and vague because it was originally going to be a pilot for a tv
show, the series would've obviously explained it |
combustion07
10.13.09 | lol just got Jacob's Ladder in the mail.
Also got Trick 'r Treat, Deadgirl, and Last House on the Left
Anyone seen Trick r Treat or Deadgirl yet? |

10.13.09 | I was really close to putting High Tension on the list simply because it was so brutal, but ya the ending did suck big time. And i've heard that Frontier(s) is crazy too.
Im so pumped to see Paranormal Activity, it looks pretty great and you cant ignore all the buzz and rave reviews its gotten...
Also waiting to see Drag Me To Hell and Trick r' Treat |
Inveigh
10.13.09 | yeah, I'd like to see Paranormal Activity, but I'm remaining skeptical until I actually see it. Drag Me To Hell will be one of my next rentals for sure, Sam Raimi's the man. Well, he used to be. In fact, I've heard the movie's really not that good, but I'm gonna see it anyways. |
Inveigh
10.13.09 | and Frontier(s) IS crazy. I think it's more brutal than High Tension by quite a bit actually. Freakin' cannibal nazis?! |
thebhoy
10.13.09 | Sunshine is 100x better then Event Horizon |
combustion07
10.13.09 | Trick r Treat kicks ass so far, I'll post a review or something in the forums |

01.10.10 | ok, I know i've already given my opinion about "The Descent" but it's not based on a book so... idk?
on another note, the creatures were blatant rip-offs of guillermo del toro's darkly imaginative fairy tale "blade 2: cazador de vampiros" |
