| Digging My Own Grave...and Albums
Recent digs. You know. | | 1 | | Thrice Beggars
Yup. Meant to see these guys in November with Brand New, but tickets sold out midway through last month, so this is my consolation prize. I've had much worse prizes in the past. | | 2 | | The Gaslight Anthem Sink or Swim
Hopefully I will be seeing these guys at the end of the month. I'm still torn between this and The '59 Sound as my favorite. | | 3 | | Faith No More King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime
Vastly underrated. Which is odd, since everybody and a half always talks about how everything Mike Patton is involved with is the best thing ever. I guess this slipped by them. | | 4 | | Anchor & Braille Felt
Just a gorgeous album, plain and simple. "Summer Tongues" especially. | | 5 | | Steve Reich Music for 18 Musicians
Great neoclassical exercises in pulse and stamina. Appropriately enough, it seems to be a great soundtrack for writing papers. | |

10.07.09 | Love 1 and like 3. I'm a big Mike Patton and FNM fan, but that's probably my least favorite FNM album. There are some ace songs, like Evidence and Digging the Grave (list title inspiration?), but just too many songs I wasn't crazy about. Angel Dust is by far the best FNM release (IMO). | EverythingEvil2113
10.07.09 | i saw gaslight a few weeks ago and it was great. i would make an effort to see that one. plus murder by death is awesome as well. | BrandNewBoognish
10.07.09 | Actually, a lot of FNM fans seem to think that KFAD is their best. I'd have to agree with everythingevil and pick Angel Dust ahead of it though | thecheatisnotdead
10.07.09 | Murder by Death is definitely good stuff. And Faith No More-wise, I think I prefer Angel Dust, too, but King for a Day was surprisingly good, considering how compared to Dust, it gets such little acclaim. | Prophet178
10.08.09 | 3 is my favorite FNM album. I think Lovage is Pattons most underrated project. |
