09.10.09 | @Mordecai21: based on the fact that you like Misery Signals, Dillinger Escape Plan and At the Drive-In, I would definitely recommend that you check out Poison the Well is you never have.
They don't necessarily sound like the aforementioned bands, but people that like them typically dig PtW. I would suggest starting with You Come Before You and then moving to Tropic Rot and The Opposite of December. |

09.10.09 | @ Mordecai21: it's a tough call, they aren't really similar to any bands out there. They basically started as metallic hardcore not too disimilar from Shai Hulud or Botch and have gotten really progressive as they've gone on. I would say imagine if Deftones were a hardcore band and you might get pretty close. I think it's one of their finest attributes that there is really no band to compare them to.
@Amnesty: I really like Versions, as I said, it was hard for me to rate it last. It's a toss-up between all of their albums depending on what mood I'm in. I rated The Opposite of December no. 1 mainly because it was the reason I fell in love with this band and it's a sentimental album to me. Musically, their last 3 albums are their best. |
