09.08.09 | I'm pretty big on August Burns Red's Constellations; but it doesn't seem like you're much for metalcore.
I'd also like to throw in P.O.S.'s Never Better for album of the year. Anyone (and I mean any fan of good music) owes it to themselves to at least give it a chance. |

09.09.09 | 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 & 10 are the albums from this list I MAY listen to in the future. Any opinions on whether I will like/hate any of them would be appreciated.
I've listened to 8 & 9 once and they'll probably settle around the 3.5 range, but it's too early to comment.
I have only rated five albums a 4 or above this year so far. They may not really be your thing Ross, but here goes (only in rough order btw):
1. Emery
2. The Blackout (accessible post-hardcore)
3. Thursday
4. Manchester Orchestra (Recommended if you have yet to hear)
5. Phrase (very accessible Aussie hip-hop)
There are also a bunch of albums I have at around the 3.5 mark (also not in order):
- The Temper Trap (see my review)
- Dananananaykroyd (see my review)
- POS (definitely worth a listen)
- Red (also worth a listen)
- The Used (surprisingly good)
- Taking Back Sunday (it's slowly growing on me)
I'm certain I'm forgetting a couple, but that;s roughly my top 10 as of right now. |
Baphomet
09.09.09 | 7 is awesome. You should try
Giant Squid - The Ichthyologist (Post-Metal, it's a beautiful album and my personal 09 favorite, it may take a bit to fully click but believe me it's worth it)
fun. - Aim and Ignite
Mew - No more stories... (both are indie and outstanding)
Amorphis - Skyforger (Great album. Much less death/doom elements here, and it's much more proggier)
Dance Gavin Dance - Happiness (The merriest Post-hardcore around... it's like Glassjaw meets animal collective.. if that makes any sense) |
Electric City
09.09.09 | Daisy
Cuban Linx II
Atlas Sound- Logos
Volcan Choir- Unmap |
DaveyBoy
09.09.09 | The couple I forgot, both of which are around the 3.5 mark, are:
- Karnivool
- Gallows |
