09.05.09 | what does emim mean? |
SlightlyEpic
09.05.09 | List is still severely lacking in Deadguy, Botch, Converge, Cave In, Knut, Coalesce etc. etc.
Please please please check them out?
For me? |
Emim
09.05.09 | My original name was Eman (name backwards), but it was already taken on every site. Emim is the name of a race of giants in the Bible, it was unique and close to Eman so I chose it. |
SeaAnemone
09.05.09 | Biblegiants. lol. |
Emim
09.06.09 | I have some Converge songs from Jane Doe, not enough to put them on a favorites list though. |
Yazz_Flute
09.06.09 | emim is also mime backwards |
cirq
09.06.09 | great observation |
Emim
09.06.09 | Yes, I realize that. Kinda hard to mime stuff with a keyboard, but whatever. |

09.09.09 | Since when is Living Sacrifice metalcore? I'm pretty sure the last time I listened to them (probably the late 90s) they were a Christian thrash/death metal band. But that's cool.
The Fall of Ideals is almost the perfect modern metal (with with hardcore lyrics and breakdowns) album.
I dig Chimaira and God Forbid too. List needs some Unearth, Poison the Well and Dillinger Escape Plan though. |
Emim
09.09.09 | Their earlier work was way more death and thrash, they've switched to a more metalcore (but still kick-a**) sound recently.
I still need to get Poison the Well and DEP, and I don't have enough Unearth to put them on here, same with Converge and a lot of the others that people recommend. |

09.09.09 | is this list supposed to excite me because it sucks |
Emim
09.09.09 | Then make your own, Einstein. |
Nikkolae
09.09.09 | list needs desperately more meshuggah, botch and converge |
Inveigh
09.09.09 | it's not a bad list at all, and neither was your 1-5. But based on your tastes, you need to get the following albums:
Unearth: III: In the Eyes of Fire and The Oncoming Storm
Poison the Well: The Opposite of December and You Come Before You
Dillinger Escape Plan: Calculating Infinity and Miss Machine |
Inveigh
09.09.09 | whoa... Meshuggah are NOT metalcore. |
Emim
09.09.09 | Thanks Inveigh, I've been meaning to check those out, they seemed to be pretty loved by all.
And Nikkolae desperately needs less genre confusion, Meshuggah is nowhere close to metalcore. |
Inveigh
09.09.09 | yes, they are all excellent albums that I believe you will enjoy. I'll check out some of that new Living Sacrifice stuff, I think the last song I had was from a 2001 Solid State sampler, maybe the song was called Hammer? I could be wrong about that, but I will give it a listen nonetheless. |
Golgoroth
09.09.09 | Nice list. |
Emim
09.09.09 | I'd check out "Conditional" first, the album is called The Hammering Process, that's probably where you got hammer from.
Oh, ha ha, found out that tags don't work here. Minus the * |
Inveigh
09.09.09 | Ah yes, The Hammering Process -- that's definitely what I was thinking! Word, I'll look into Conditional. |
