09.03.09 Australia's Finest

Australia's Finest

My favorite metal to come from down under.
1Karnivool
Sound Awake

Karnivool's version of Lateralus. A dark and insightful look into the self discovery of the individual. Championed by Ian Kenny's vocals and beautiful lyrics, Sound Awake is a a coming of age for a very promising band.
2The Butterfly Effect
Imago

From the opening instrumental track "Imago" and the beautiful lead into "Aisles of White," The Butterfly Effect flex there keen musical talents to create mind boggling hooks with an undeniable feeling of isolation.
3Karnivool
Themata

Although no other track on the album comes close to the opener "Cote," Themata still stands as Karnivool's most accesible if somewhat inconsistent album.
4Cog
The New Normal

An album which lacks some of the focus of Karnivool and The Butterfly Effect. The album is made distinctly better because of it's unique vocalist and song structures.
5Birds of Tokyo
Universes

Ian kenny's talents extend past Karnivool into Birds of Tokyo which lacks the reflective nature of Karnivool, and instead creates an atmosphere which is a little more fun.
