My Favourite Albums

I'm getting bored...

Reason? You ask for a reason? I thought you reviewed music?
Blood Mountain

This could easily be #1, as it was what cast me into the throwes of progressiveness. The standout here, as a mediocre guitar player, is Capillarian Crest. I listened to this album for what seemed like ever last year, it blew my mind. The concept, climbing a mountain, sounds kind of stupid when read like that, but when added to Mastodon it gets a whole new meaning.
3Between The Buried And Me

This also could be #1, but just because I got into it later than I got ino 1 and 2 it gets this position. Its pretty much 64:31 of pure unadulterated orgasm produced in guitars, digeridoos, bass, keyboard, drums, accordians, strings, who knows what else? My mate once gave me a test where he fast forwarded halfway through a song to a completely random bit, and I could guess the song within 5 seconds. That's something I'm sadly proud of.
L.D. 50

I stupidly forgot to put some songs from this album in my favourite songs, but I will not make that mistake now. Even though this band has pretty much gone to shit, I can't dispute the fact that this is nu-metal's peak.

The album that made Tool more of a phenomenon than just a standard rock band is amazing. In some ways better than Lateralus, it has received countless playbacks on my Ipod and thoroughly deserves its position here at #5.
Blackwater Park

One word - Bleak.
7Protest The Hero

Yeah, this is friggin awesome. How fast can guitarists get before thier fingers break?
8Parkway Drive
Killing With A Smile

My favourite Aussie band, and my favourite Aussie album. These guys are amazing in concerts, great value for money, and psycho as.
9Between The Buried And Me

Slightly not as good as Colors, just for the fact that it wasnt as progressive. But still, the number of standout tracks are still present, its got Selkies, Backwards Marathon, Roboturner, the title track, I can't wait til I see them live.
10Queens Of The Stone Age
Songs For The Deaf

QOTSA were probably my favourite "metal" band back in the day, and this was one of my most played albums back in the day. The sheer stonerishness is just awesome and endless.
11 Slipknot
Vol 3: The Subliminal Verses

When I first heard this, it changed me for ever pretty much. Gone were the days of listening to the Killers, Green Day, John Butler and all that. Even though it does fuck me up, it still garners a place here, and 11 seems like the best spot to put it.
Master Of Puppets

I suppose this should be higher, but I dunno... I'm not necessarily obsessed with the thrash scene... BUT THIS! Far out, I was raped from face to toe and then my cadavers were mutilated, screwed in what used to be my arsehole, yeah... Sounds like Cannibal Corpse.
13Rage Against The Machine
Rage Against The Machine

Another album that changed me of eternity, it brought out many questions in me, it made me question why does society do the things they do... all the politcal bullshit that shouldn't matter but does anyway.
14 Atreyu
Lead Sails, Paper Anchor

I give all that read this permission to cut my balls off.
15Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

I dunno why I liked this, I just did.
