Shit Yo.

The basics of what I've been doing for a few weeks.
1Elliott Smith
XO

Phenomenal. I had this forever ago when I used to download (as well as all his other stuff) and now that
I
had some money I decided it was time to pick up this masterpiece.
2Pixies
Doolittle

It came down to this and Surfer Rosa - but this just won. I've had it longer and I absolutely NEED to
catch
the tour where they will play all of this in a few months!
3Brand New
The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me

Had this the day it came out and it had disappeared from my collection when I went looking for it - so I
rebought it. Will soon have to do the same with Deja Entendu which I had received as a gift on the day
it
came out when I graduated 8th grade, haha. God only knows where they ended up.
4Wilco
Being There

Had everything from Yankee Hotel Foxtrot on and decided to add to their impressive catalog. Side
note:
how damn good is their new album!?
5The Beatles
The Beatles

This was on my last list and could be on every list I ever make. I caught McCartney at Fenway Park a
few
weeks ago now and it was life-changing to see such a man live. Truly an incredible show! This is one
of
my favorite Beatles albums as well so it doesn't hurt to include it.
6Tom Waits
Orphans

I bought this and Rain Dogs at the same time and although Rain Dogs is a classic - this album was just
plain fun to dive into. I always end up doing the same thing with new music and buying almost all of a
bands catalog and just start listening in. Bawlers has got to be my favorite here although they're all
impressive!
7Bruce Springsteen
Darkness On The Edge Of Town

Going to catch my second Boss show this year and could not be more excited! I decided to put this one
here rather than the classic Born To Run simply because it is also a superb album. There's no
"Jungleland"
here but quite honestly there will probably never be another one.
8Miles Davis
Sketches Of Spain

Awesome album. I have a sickening amount of Miles Davis albums and I don't plan on stopping until I
have them all, haha. You just can not go wrong.
9Mogwai
Young Team

Sweet.
10The Kinks
The Village Green Preservation Society

Say what you will but I truly think the Kinks are sorely overlooked. I find Arthur to be a stronger album
but this is certainly worth the cash as well. Any other Kinks fans out there?
11Nas
Illmatic

To be honest - I usually just don't like rap or hip-hop (at least current day). This however is also a
masterpiece. While I can't relate to what Nas is speaking about on this album necessarily he makes up
for
it by truly convincing me of his storytelling as many of the great writers do.
12Queen
A Night At The Opera

It had been a while since I'd listened to this so I decided to make this classic a must listen.
13Bob Dylan
Love And Theft

I just picked this up a few nights ago and have honestly not listened. While I do not expect this to be
on
par with his earlier work I very much enjoy Together Through Life and Modern Times so I still expect
good
things.
14DJ Shadow
Endtroducing

It took me FOREVER to finally getting around to buying this and boy oh boy was that stupid. Album is
awesome!
15Thrice
Vheissu

I have been listening to Thrice since prior to the release of Illusion Of Safety and have had periods
where I
maybe "grew out" of them so to speak but never missed purchasing an album the day it came out
through
that time. I am eagerly awaiting the physical release of Beggars just as I had all the others and am
excited as all hell. Glad to see these guys still with a superb fan base after all the evolution their music
has
gone through. True musicians who deserve all the support in the world!
