Second List Of The Day
I'm the one who always tells new people "Don't make more than one list per day." Well fuck that; here's my second pointless list in less than 12 hours (the first one's still on the front page). Digs for the past couple weeks or so. |
| 1 | | A Perfect Circle Thirteenth Step
It's always cool to come back to an album you seem to have forgotten while discovering new shit. This is how I feel about this album, 'Vol 3: The Subliminal Verses' and Demon Hunter's stuff. This one's amazing. |
| 2 | | Anchor & Braille Felt
I don't own this one; I've only been listening to the stream. It's so damn good though...it'll probably be a surprise entry on the year-end "Best Of" list, which is already going to be packed. By the way...anyone know what the hell the band name means? |
| 3 | | Cynic Traced In Air
Whenever I don't know exactly what I want to listen to, I throw this on; I've gotten a better appreciation for it that way. Might make it a 4.5 soon. |
| 4 | | Deftones White Pony
'CAUSE BACK IN SCHOOL, WE ARE THE LEADERS OF ALL |
| 5 | | Dream Theater Black Clouds and Silver Linings
Shoe-in for the year-end list. Damn great c.d.; I really enjoy it when bands reference their past works, because it makes me feel special to recognize it. |
| 6 | | Dredg The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion
Another shoe-in. Unlike most people, I really, REALLY enjoy "Savior." |
| 7 | | He Is Legend It Hates You
It came out last month, but it's already the album I've played most this year. I didn't think so when I first heard it, but maybe (just maybe) it might hit the top of the year-end list. I've really come to enjoy it that damn much. "Dicephalous" and "Stranger Danger" are contenders for Song of the Year, IMO. |
| 8 | | Porcupine Tree In Absentia
Listened to this on a short plane hop from Lubbock to Austin, TX, and really got a feel for the album, whereas before I was just happy to put on in the background. "The Sound of Muzak" or "Blackest Eyes" might actually challenge "Fear of a Blank Planet" for my favorite PT song. Amazing album! |
