Sigur Ros - Hvarf-Heim
Has all the greats from their earlier albums and should get you into them. () might bore you if you try and start with that.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada
My favorite Godspeed, and a short 30min EP. It will show you everything that is great about Godspeed in an easy listen. Grab F#A#∞ after.
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Pretty self explanatory. One of their best works that is easily accessible. Grab Still Life once you love this.
The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
Don't listen to anything by the Volta until you love this. It might take 5-10 plays, but you'll come around. Get anything after this.
Mastodon - Blood Mountain
Thats a tough one, but Blood Mountain will probably be the best to start with. Crack the Skye sounds nothing like their earlier works, and Leviathan is a little too rough to begin with. Grab this, then Leviathan. |
