| To Whom It May Concern, Recs Please.
Looking for recs in the various genres I'm listening to currently, any assistance is most appreciated. | 1 | Hip-Hop
I enjoy the older stuff (Wu-Tang, N.W.A., etc.) and am partial to it, however I'm still feeling out the genre and would be happy to listen to pretty much any of it (although I find most of the modern day gangsta stuff to be off-putting). | 2 | Jazz
I'm partial to Oscar Peterson and think his music (Jazz piano in general) is absolutely beautiful, but any good Jazz is something I'm looking for. | 3 | Metal
Right now I'm into the progressive and melodic death varieties, with emphasis on Enslaved and Insomnium. Anything like this would be greatly enjoyed. | 4 | Indie
I've enjoyed TV on the Radio and Rock Plaza Central quite a bit lately and am interested in any similar sounding music. | 5 | Good Things
As I've covered quite a bit, I'm open to anything fantastic all the time. As long as it's not country I will listen to it, and take it for what it's worth. Feel free to pass along any good tunes you think the world needs to hear. | |

04.28.09 | For hip-hop I recommend Kanye West's 808's and Heartbreak. If you can, try and check out this local rapper from my area, Lil Coner. | tinathefatlard
04.28.09 | For 5, check out the list on my profile called Paramore demo songs. As well as The Gaslight Anthem's The '59 Sound. | BallsToTheWall
04.28.09 | Hip hop get Deltron 3030 and Army Of The Pharaohs.
Metal: Thryfing, Agalloch, Primordial, Woods Of Ypres, Janvs, Intestine Baalism, and Vreid in particular.
For random, check out The Birthday Massacre. | kingsoby1
04.28.09 | don't get army of the pharaohs. also, 808s and heartbreaks isn't hip-hop really. | iarescientists

04.28.09 | Who gives a fuck what it is, it's a good album. | NOTINTHEFACE
04.28.09 | for 3, I looked through your ratings and noticed you hadn't rated any Opeth. Try Blackwater Park, Still Life, and Watershed by them, if you haven't already. Also try In Mourning, Cynic, Agalloch, Disillusion, Ikuinen Kaamos, and Edge of Sanity.
As far as 4, I've been enjoying Pale Young Gentlemen and The Winter Sounds a lot lately. Also try the Arcade Fire, Death Cab for Cutie, and Bon Iver. | ilikemusic
04.29.09 | thanks for the feedback everyone, i'll begin my digging tonight.
please keep the recs coming. everyone needs good music.
@ NOTINTHEFACE - i never noticed I haven't rated Opeth, I'm a big fan and am slightly shocked at that oversight. thanks for pointing that out.
Once again, thanks everyone. | kingsoby1
04.29.09 | tbh, check the hip-hop forum... we have an essentials sticky that is pretty solid. | Avirov
04.29.09 | My favorite jazz artist is Wes Montgomery.
El-P is the best rapper alive, in my opinion. Also, try out trip hop. Specifically, Massive Attack's "Mezzazine".
Check out Radiohead's "Kid A" and Brian Eno's "Another Green World". Both essentials. | willfellmarsy

cLOUDDEAD-Ten
3-Be'Lakor-The Frail Tide |
