Progression Of Taste In Bands

All the bands and artists I have gone through since my new "awakening" to music in 2007.
1Plain White T's

I used to think this band was so cool. My mom downloaded "Hey There Delilah" and I was hooked. For a couple months, anyway.
2Drake Bell

This guy has a few okay songs, but two years ago I just couldn't get enough of him. "Makes Me Happy" played on my website for over a year, dang it!
3Anarchy Club

After the advent of Rock Band, I was exposed to "heavier" bands such as this band and Flyleaf (also on this list.) I fell in love with "Blood Doll" and eventually ended up downloading five songs from The Way And Its Power off iTunes. Still a kick-butt band to this day.
4Skillet

I was exposed to this band from some blog I regularly visited. I absolutely HATED them at first, but after listening to "Looking For Angels" about a hundred times and doing some research, I bought their album. I still listen to this band quite a bit. Very uplifting music.
5The Sleeping

This band exposed me to Silverstein and the pile of dog crap that is Victory Records. Despite being on this putrid label, The Sleeping are quite enjoyable. I mean come on, some of their guitar work is just undeniably awesome.
6Silverstein

This band is still a somewhat guilty pleasure of mine. I dunno why I thought they would be good, but I saw this advertisement for them on this little Victory Records flyer in my Questions & Answers CD. I checked em out and fell in love with "If You Could See Into My Soul" and later the entire When Broken Is Easily Fixed album. A decent screamo band to this day.
7Escape the Fate

I remember when I first heard "Not Good Enough For Truth In Cliche," I just wasn't that into these guys. That changed with "Situations" and I soon found myself listening to Dying Is Your Latest Fashion non-stop. Too bad they let us down with This War Is Ours.
8Anberlin

Saw the video for "A Day Late" on GMC, bought Never Take Friendship Personal and then New Surrender. I enjoy this band quite thoroughly to be honest; its nice alternative rock.
9Flyleaf

"I'm So Sick" grabbed my attention and a year later I bought their record. They have some generic songs but are worth a listen.
10Rush

At first, I absolutely despised Geddy Lee's chipmunk-like voice, but in a few months they were a guilty pleasure. This later progressed and I now have 5 of their albums plus a greatest hits release. Wow.
11Kansas

"Carry On My Wayward Son" was waaay epic. I bought Leftoverture and wasn't dissapointed. Same goes for Somewhere To Elsewhere. Awesome prog band.
12Underoath

This where I got into the 'heavy' stuff. "Desperate Times Desperate Measures" had me in a trance and I bought LITSOS probably a week later. Their other stuff, however, is just not heavy enough for me for some reason. Everyone LOVES Define The Great Line, but to me Lost In The Sound of Separation blows that album out of the water.
13Dream Theater

Once again I show my love for progressive music. I was introduced to them through "Constant Motion," bought their greatest hit album and then was given Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, Octavarium and Systematic Chaos. Gosh I love this band.
14Badfinger

My mom's all-time favorite band. I got into these guys with "Baby Blue" and "Day After Day" and later found myself enthralled in Straight Up, Ass and Wish You Were Here. A great band that was horribly unfortunate.
15Head East
16Lacuna Coil

I heard "Closer" and totally forgot about this band. Later I heard "Our Truth" and bought Karmacode. Needless to say, I was not (a little) dissapointed.
17August Burns Red

My bro Justin told me about this band months ago and I totally forgot about them. Later I took a chance on them and bought Messengers at Circuit City. Some great guitar work and screaming here.
18Giant Squid

Somehow I found out about this band through Wikipedia and I fell in love with Metridium Fields. Honestly, my brother Andrew originally thought these guys were SOAD.
