My Current Top 10 Rotation

A list of the top 10 albums I have been listening to non-stop.
1Giant Squid
The Ichthyologist

Simply fantastic post-metal. The whole thing just kind of hits you like a tide
rolling over a sandbar. Cool and refreshing. And yet, still a little salty.
2Isis
Panopticon

Again, great post-metal. Just great for de-stressing mostly.
3Obscura
Cosmogenesis

Really interesting death metal that just kind of gripped me and hasn't let
go. Something to really look at and listen to.
4Bruce Dickinson
Balls to Picasso

It's not the hard and heavy Bruce everyone's used to, but it still has kind of
that young Bruce flare where he could whine like he does on Sacred
Cowboys. I think I've mostly been listening to it just 'cause it's catchy.
5Cynic
Traced In Air

Man, I must really be into atmospheric stuff. Well, Traced In Air is kind of a
no-brainer. It's just a little lower on the list because I really played the
hell
out of it a while ago. I still listen to it pretty often, but I'm giving it a
relaxer
right now.
6Deadlock
Manifesto

Maybe it's just the female vocals, but there just seems to be something
unique about this death metal offering. I don't dig on their views or
anything, but Deadlock provide a very interesting sound.
7Girugamesh
Music

Girugamesh have just kind of blown out of that "just another metal band"
sound they kind of had going on 13's Reborn. I think anyone who listened
to that album would agree they were hinting at something more, and this
is it. The album ranges from techno to jazz to metal. It's crazy, it's fun,
it's
simply great.
8Gojira
The Way of All Flesh

The grooves in this album just won't let me put it down. Occassionally I get
bored by about halfway through the album, but those opening hooks just
pull me in there, at least for a good while.
9Kalisia
Cybion

I can't even describe this epic, but you must listen to the entire thing in one
sitting at least once. I wish I could find the time to do so more often.
10Megadeth
The World Needs A Hero

It's kind of interesting hearing Al Pitrelli on Megadeth's guitars. I can't
wait
to hear Chris Broderick on them, but for now Al will have to do. I'm in Marty
rehab since I'd been listening to all of his solo stuff in addition to his
Megadeth career just about all of last year.
