Despite my Soundwave plan I missed several bands due to preoccupation with the wimminz, I still managed to get the bitches to shut up long enough to see the good bands so here's what I thought. | | 1 | New Found Glory
So NFG was the first band I saw and they didn't dissapoint. They had a rather energetic stage presence and mosh was pretty easy going i.e. good warm up. | | 2 | Underoath
For the most part the band was flawless and if it weren't for the annoying scene whores in Underoath shirts constantly yelling at them to play TCOS songs it would've been perfect. Although I felt Spencer's vocals were a bit off. | | 3 | Dillinger Escape Plan
Highlight of my day, the dudes were all incredibly energetic and Spencer Chamberlain joined DEP on stage for the final song "Sunshine the Werewolf". | | 4 | The Bloodhound Gang
Inbetween the band commenting on how they'd stick it up Nicole Kidman's "Fart Chimmney" dudes were solid and pretty f*cking funny. | | 5 | HORSE the band.
Fucking off the handle band. Abusing the crowd for demanding songs, breaking the keys on a synthesizer and singing love songs to a security guard made it all worthwhile. Also the Dudesons were on stage just before HORSE which made it all the more interesting. | | 6 | Alkaline Trio
Probably the biggest letdown. Matt Skiba and Dan Andriano's live voices are pretty weak. They still played rather well but it was a tad dissappointing. | | 7 | NIN/Lamb of God
NIN were awesome, Lamb of God sucked big sweaty balls. | |

03.02.09 | I hope you weren't one of those faggots hardcore dancing at HORSE because seriously... | JumpTheF**kUp
03.02.09 | Also Sunshine The Werewolf was fucking awesome simply because the dude playing lead crowd surfed at the end while playing. And Spencer coming out was a sick surprise. Say Anything had sound problems and only played 5 songs which was disappointing, Anberlin were a lot of fun, crowd surfed to Feel Good Drag 3 times :D, Underoath were good as well although a little too congested at times. The Bloodhound Gang were lol, especially when the bassist (I think) sculled a jug of beer, threw it back up into the jug and then sculled that. Unearth are so much better live than on record, and watching the Dillinger guitarist break a string halfway through the set was insane.
Good day. Although I ended up buying 5 shirts and because I had no way of carrying them around, I had to wear them all over each other all day long. | DaveyBoy
03.03.09 | Great to hear you had a good day Taylor. Although, Boo-urns on the Alk3 thoughts. They (or maybe I should say Matt) sounded great in Melbourne (Dan doesn't really have a great voice full stop).
Oh & JumpTheF**kUp, a little tip on carrying merch. I always take cargo-like shorts (or jeans) that have the thingamajigs where you can wear a belt. Those thingamajigs are perfect for tying shirts up in. | DaveyBoy
03.03.09 | ^^^ Always a chance when not playing the main stage(s) at a festival. | Tits McGee
03.03.09 | Yeah NFG is suprsingly good live. I would like to see Dillinger one of these days. |
