Nicer Potaoer Drums
This are some songs were I like the drums, even if they are simple, but fitting, and even if it doesn't have a drummer like Mike Portnoy or Hellhammer or some guy who plays jazz. |
1 | Converge - Eagles Become Vultures
PA-PURURA-PURURA-PURURA-APDSOADPBADPNADP!!!!!!!! (Onomatopeia for drum intro?) |
2 | The Dillinger Escape Plan - Panasonic Youth
Any DEP song could have done, but I chose this one for the instensity and brutality. |
3 | The Used - Blue & Yellow
I think this drum beat is very catchy and that it helps take the song a step furter. If the song had a simple 4/4 rock beat or something, it just wouldn't be the same. |
4 | AFI - The Boy Who Destroyed The World
I think I am a sucker for awesome drum intros. I remember when I heard it in Tony Hawk's videogame and I always rocked out to these one and Ace of Spades. |
5 | American Football - I'll See You When We're Both Not So Emotional
This drummer (and most of the Kinsella's fame crew of drummers) has a very unique style that gives kind of a jazzy vibe, but keeping the tempo up and the song fresh. |
6 | Blink 182 - Anthem Pt. II
I happen to like Travis Barker for his fast and catchy playing, and what I consider his fills to be very fitting with the songs most of the time. |
7 | Russian Circles - Harper Lewis
The drums enter with a groove that lasts for a while setting you in a trance and I love that click-rim/hi-hat thing he does. |
8 | The Mars Volta - Wax Simulacra
That dude drums like his life was in a position of risk if he didn't rule at every moment of the song. |
9 | Refused - The Deadly Rhythm
Another drummer who I consider underrated. He didn't overplay and he pounded his drums like he was trying to kill someone trapped inside them. |
10 | Insite - A Tus Pies
You have to listen to this song and give them a chance. The bridge starting at 2:15 to like 3:00 is where the real NICER POTATO happens. You can ask me if you want me to send it so you can listen to them, I also recommend the song "Rojoazul". |
