Some new-old albums with a little help from Sputnik
Been getting some new music like crazy lately. After reading alot on here, I picked out some stuff that my otherwise stubborn attitude wouldnt allow me to get. Just kidding, Im totally open-minded. Ill state which ones I got from good reccomendations. |

Pinkerton
(Sputnik) I had heard for years and years and years about how great this album was. I always kinda dug The Blue Album (who doesnt?), but that was as far as it went for me with Weezer. So far, this album is mighty excellent. |

Tusk
Ive always had a soft spot for the Mac, even though they are totally wuss-rock. Not here, though. They sound paranoid, like they must change their sound. Has the feel of a sprawling work, the true definition of a double album. Plus I heard Lindsey Buckingham was jamming to London Calling alot when this was recorded. Stevie Nicks is my babymama fyi. |

Mit Gas
Even though Faith No More is most likely my favorite band, Tomahawk I took my time with. Ive had the self-titled for years now, and its a good one. This, as with all Patton projects, is a slow-burner and it takes much work to get it. So far, awesome. |

Very blah at first, but it blossoms with a couple more listens. Much better than the s/t Cure in 04, but it aint touching Bloodflowers. The Cure is so great. |

Since I had a Clash epiphany over the summer, Ive realized just how they got the famous line "The Only Band That Matters". Seriously, whenever I put a Clash album on for friends, its immediatley liked. How did they do that? Oh, and this is totally off-topic, but Sandinista is quite the adventure to listen to. |

Wretch
How does a band thats underrated like Kyuss have an underrated cd? Its strange, but Wretch doesnt get the props like Blues and Sky Valley does, and I can see why. However, Ive sat on this album for a while and only started to jam to it. Theres some mighty fine riffage from Mr. Homme on here. Goddamnnnn Son of a Bitttchhh. |

Madhouse is a Jazz-Fusion project by Prince in the mid to late 80s. You wouldnt think he did all the music but he does with Eric Leeds on the sax. Yo, if you havent learned yet, Prince is my homeboy, and I highly suggest you give an open-minded listen. I wouldnt be a fan boy for nothing. |

A friend of mine is a huge MTB fan and he bought me a ticket to see them this past April. I was so impressed, I actually bought this cd at the show, and just opened it last week. These dudes are great, and totally underrated. They should be selling the kind of records that MCR sells. Our generation needs to open their eyes on these dudes. |
