Wish Id never started tbh because I have some kinda OCD and then had to uprgraade everything, constantly. I did lose like 50k gambling in like 20 months though and dont gamble anymore so at least I have something to show for this addiction. |

09.05.26 | i've kept it on the back burner, basically whenever i see a band i love press something i'll give it a preorder and hope it shows up. last things i got were like #12 looks like you mongrel, discordance axis ulterior remix, gif from god dissimulation, rolo tomassi time will die. saw danny brown few months ago and basically only merch they had was a stardust lp so i got that, almost got that nin quake soundtrack lp buuut opted to just go with a hoodie cause that alone ran like a hundred bucks. check target every other week for their clearance stuff and last things i got there were likee the new gorillaz, doja cat, and death of slim shady. still haven't heard them yet thoo. past couple months have just been like 30 copies of some morgan wallen bullshit, they're getting stingy. |

09.05.26 | We recently took the plunge and bought a vinyl player about 2 months ago after talking about it for a year or so. it's going to be a dangerous money sink but the good thing with vinyls are they don't REALLY go down in value much should you ever wish to sell them, and they are a good thing to pass on to kids, etc
I just found an amazing store near us and today picked up Alice In Chain's Dirt, Maiden's Number Of The Beast, Massive Attack's Mezzannine, and Neurosis's new one. Wife picked up a Best Of Dolly and Blondie's Parrallel Line. Collection's now up to 15.

09.05.26 | I collected vinyl for like 15 years, it got way out of hand during/after lockdown though, it's amazing how moving between apartments without elevators can completely change your opinion on having a big collection. Currently trying to offload a good chunk of my albums on Discogs, it's a lot of fun actually. I'll still buy maybe a couple a year if I think the album is suitable for vinyl and the pressing reviews are okay, like that last Lambchop album sounds incredible. But I've mostly gone back to CDs for physical media. |

09.05.26 | I was given a record store’s leftover stock when they went out of business when I was 12, so I started out stacked, that helped me get into music. Now my collection is pretty massive and I really enjoy keeping everything in plastic in good shape. I spend too much on it but it adds so much to my life, my lady and I put on vinyl daily. Between the limited releases, rarities, test pressings, etc I don’t think there’s a way I could ever part with most of it. I buy even more cds though, I’m not picky with their condition. I have cassettes but they aren’t preferable to me, I only get them if that’s the only format they were released on physically |

yeah this is a good point that ive been thinking, Like coughing up for say a hardcore record thas 20 mins just doesnt seem worth it and some lo fi black metal etc just doesnt sound that great on an album sometimes so im trying to pick and choose what will sound good on wax. Unfortuanely you do get a few of those super compressed digital versions pressed to vinyl but ive been lucky to keep that to single digits *cough * Glassjaw. like most sludge doom/electrpnic /hip hop sounds fucking great on a solid set up (recording depending)

09.06.26 | i started collecting cds way earlier than vinyl just cause they were a lot more common, i miss fye. in general they're more consistent and versatile, but most importantly they work in any beater car. i generally prefer vinyl for stuff pre-1990, but for anything from the digital era, i mostly prefer cds but will pick up an lp just as a show of support. |

09.07.26 | lol, it was a inherited record sooo keeping it in the family. was surprised to find it in my aunts collection and kinda called dibs on it before knowing it was actually a sought out item. sidenote i had to appraise my aunts collection for her probate cause she didn't have a will, annnd it was kind of a pain i'd rec just hiring someone to do the work for you. there'd be cases where the record was damaged and the lowest discogs sale price would be like 30 bucks, which no record store would ever pay for that condition maybe like a buck. this was her collection https://www.discogs.com/user/tabv/collection ; i was initially told i'd get it all buuut once the legal process went in to gear[no will] it had to get broken down/itemized in regards to my mom/my living aunt/and my cousins. sooo to make less drama out of claiming potentially thousands of dollars of stuff i just picked out like 30, and it turned into a waste effort anyways cause the other 170s just been sitting out in my living room since. but yeah i got the doolittle/bowies/pop&stooges/dead kennedys/couple other ones. i wanted the cramps stuff buuut it would've added like 1,000 dollars onto my moms debt sooo i just took good music for bad people. the public list doesn't note all my conditions buuut most of these went into my living aunts name because she never got around to just offing them on some store, maaybe i convince her to let me keep them buuut yeah just trying to avoid inheritance drama. |
