08.19.26 | Top 10 is just skimming the surface, there's always gonna be glaring omissions. Carcass, Incantation, Cannibal Corpse, Disgorge, Autopsy... all completely different bands with at least one classic each. |

SWR is definitely the better album in my eyes. It seems like CoD had a much more felt cultural impact than SWR but as far as the music it just doesn't do a ton for me, despite featuring James Murphy. Pretty insane accomplishment imo |

08.20.26 | tbh I think a lot of classics get dismissed as "generic" because of how many bands ripped them off. It took a band like Defeated Sanity for me to realize the genius of early death metal, because they take a scholarly approach to the genre. |
