| Seasonal Albums
Do you have certain albums that when you hear them, they just bring you back to a winter, spring, fall or summer in the past? What albums do you associate with each season of the year? | | 1 | | Emery The Weak's End
Winter- I remember first jamming this on a gloomy overcast freezing cold winter day in 2004, this album reminds me of winter ever since. | | 2 | | CHON Demo 2008
Spring- hearing these demos and their debut LP Grow while everything was blooming outside was peak spring time tunes. | | 3 | | Strung Out The Element of Sonic Defiance
Summer- working a summer job doing yard work in the summer heat and having this playing in my cd walkman will forever be burned in my mind. | | 4 | | The Contortionist Language
Fall- being cozied up in the house with the fireplace roaring and leaves falling outside, that’s my experience hearing this for the first time. | |

08.17.26 | Winter- radically different albums, The Mantle by Agalloch and f.e.a.r. by Stand Atlantic. The former brings me back to a certain cathartic walk throught a snowy forest, the latter was my go-to stress reliever during the driving course.
Spring- Strix by Owls Woods Graves, I listened to that album a lot right before finishing high school.
Summer- Jealous Gods by Poets Of The Fall. It was my first posted review, but more importantly, brings me back to long drives with my mom to collect spring water, and afternoon visits at my aunt's place. Similar case with Envy by Framing Hanley.
Fall- ah, yes, sitting depressed in the school's locker room and jamming the hell out of Dead End Kings by Katatonia. Also Seventeen Seconds by The Cure, which became sort of a symbol of me falling out of touch with a former best friend. | AlexKzillion
08.17.26 | there are exceptions but pre-2010 hip hop wise:
winter - east coast
spring/summer - west coast / dirty south
fall - midwest / memphis
i genuinely feel weird listening to something like illmatic or the purple tape when there isn't snow on the ground | OwMySnauze
08.17.26 | @athropod seems like newer albums don’t hit as hard or stay with us like the albums we listened to in our younger days
@alex. Yeah I totally get it, I feel weird listening to #1 if it’s not winter. |
