05.22.26 | 34 just had a sinus infection or covid and it was pretty rough for about 5 days. My wife got sick the following week and it was worse for her.
There isn't much you can do but as soon as you start feeling like you might be unwell it's a good time to take echinacea, vitamin D, C, zinc to help your immune system
Get well soon (: |

05.22.26 | I've had the flu for about 2 and a half weeks now, feels great. Technically 5 days of the flu and then a week and a bit of a constant cough lol |

05.22.26 | Glad I'm not the only one, colds and flu bugs I got in my 20s that I shrugged off in a few days will now keep me out of action for a week plus, and there's usually a shitty cough that sticks around for a month afterwards (which is great when you're a vocalist lol) |

05.22.26 | being sick sucks, but it can always be worse |

05.22.26 | I have health issues from birth, but one way I'm healthy is I don't "get sick". Don't even remember the last time I got the common cold. Never got Covid, not sure I've ever had the flu, not even allergic to anything really, just fucked up in other ways most people don't have. |
BAT
05.22.26 | i went like the majority of my 20s without ever catching a cold, thaaan i caught covid in like 2022 funnily enough cause my family took me to a buffet for my [30th] birthday. feel like i still have long term effects from that, but generally often more sick than usual and just kinda take whatever meds i can get to get thru the days. i have pollen allergies/hay fever so going outside for a half hour gives me an intense headache for the rest of the day, i've taken up daily zytec[cetezine] and that actually has helped me a bunch but if i forget it or don't have any i'm just fucked once i head off to work.
but yeah multivitamin +a standalone b/c/d/e/iron/magnesium/zinc, zytec and an aspirin. and cause i've like fucked up a nerve or herniated a disc tylenol+ibuprofen. cut down on drinking by my mid-twenties, i've been more willing lately but pretty conscious not to get drunkdrunk cause my hangovers are just me vomiting anything i drink for 16 hours. trying to ease my way back into weed cause shit's been legal here for like years now but straight up smoking it just jumpstarts my anxiety. but yeah everything just kinda sucks |

05.22.26 | Obviously there are environmental factors and genetics that contribute to illness, but your 30s is when metabolism slows down and other things start to get quirky. So as if diet wasn't important before, it certainly is now. You need balance, vitamins and minerals, all the usual things, but think about fiber, anti-inflammatory ingredients, avoiding large blood sugar wings. I like to walk on a walking pad at home for 20 minutes or so after eating as well, for blood sugar, digestion, etc reasons. |

05.22.26 | I know I used to try to muscle my way through illnesses without any medicine, DayQuil, etc. but now I embrace that shit every time lol. I'm too busy having 30s adult responsibilities to deal with feeling awful.
One thing I have learned though is that I have to force myself to rest and do nothing for like a day. That works wonders. Trying to push through will just make it last longer; taking a day to lay around, do nothing, and just heal does so much good now. I've noticed that I get better faster every time I do that. |

05.22.26 | Sleep, water and sleep if you can. Like if I feel like pure ass I chug as much water as I can and sleep for as long as possible, like even 12 hour chunks. Cold medicines are also great, even if they are just to get you to sleep.

05.22.26 | Sorry to hear that a lot of you are going through it right now healthwise. Was not expecting so much feedback to this post. Definitely can relate as someone who has struggled w asthma for roughly half their life at 34 and recently hitting a scary moment last year. I have been making an effort to work out and eat better since then, but this sickness hit me and my partner like a truck. It is our fault because we stayed up til 6pm Sunday after being out all Sunday morning from the previous day (music and friends were too fire). Definitely been doing all the medicine tricks I can but this one seems to be coming in waves. One moment I feel better then next I'm hitting another low. Hoping great health in everyone's future |

05.22.26 | Me getting sick has everything to do with my own dietary negligence so I can’t complain really |
Josh D.
05.23.26 | Learning about diet/nutrition over the years has bordered on obsession at times, especially when I've gotten into a new exercise routine. My thing lately is eating far less meat. In fact, the only reason at the moment I'm not fully vegetarian is these things I bring to work for lunch, they're sort of like a hot pocket/pita pocket kinda thing with spicy chicken in them. I need to ditch them, I just need to figure out a lunch meal prep idea. Otherwise I might have a little meat in a weekend meal at a restaurant.
Besides that, it's indian spiced chickpeas and rice, avocado toast with over-medium eggs, carrots, almonds, blueberries, chia pudding or overnight oats, those soft baked Kodiak breakfast bar things, protein bars in a pinch, pasta dishes, coffee and water. Outside of battles with sleep, which has never been my friend, I usually feel good. The way I look at it, most of us have a health issue that we can't control, so be healthy in ways you can control. That starts with diet. |

05.23.26 | Turn 30 in august. Is it over for me? Is it really this bad? I don’t want it. |

05.23.26 | One thing's for damn sure: hangovers are not the same anymore. |

05.23.26 | @Josh D. since college I’ve learned i have a bad gluten intolerance and i also can’t handle spicy food anymore so I’ve been trying to stick mostly to stuff like eggs, soups, salads, fruit, yoghurt, black coffee and so on. It’s been hard but i definitely feel the difference when i stick with it |

05.23.26 | I'm lucky I guess. I'm 37 and still when I get a cold I'm generally back to normal a day or two later. My wife though... she always gets upper respiratory infections that linger for weeks after a cold |

05.23.26 | i know its lame but legitimately good diet, exercise, no alcohol or drugs, and getting outside. at 33 i still rarely get sick and when i do i get over it in just a couple days. |
jrlikestodance
05.23.26 | I've been focusing on diet, exercise and being more mindful about partaking but I still feel like when I do get sick it hits me like a truck. I was also very reckless going out two nights in a row last weekend which I hardly do. I'm on lock down until further notice lol |
Beardog
05.23.26 | Just drink less alcohol and eat your veggies. Also make sure you sleep enough. I guess just don't sit on your ass all day helps too. Should decrease getting sick and the impact of it a lot, at least it did for me. |
Trebor.
05.23.26 | It's harder to recover so you have to focus more on prevention. You don't have to be an extremist, like I used to be able to drink 3 beers and be fine and now I can only drink one and be fine. Also advice is weird because your immune system is partly genetic. IDK talk to a doctor |
Josh D.
05.23.26 | I've only ever been a weekend drinker (except once in a blue moon in my 20s) because I have always gotten up early for work. Nowadays a modest ABV bottle of wine won't give me a full-on hangover, but even if I finish it by 8pm and don't consider myself overly drunk I'll be tired all day next. So I think that's the big difference now, it doesn't matter how much I have or feel during, but I notice it the following day. |

05.23.26 | Im a big bitch when I’m sick for sure at 35 |

05.23.26 | i take vitamin supplements, its been sooo much better for me since. from getting sick 3-4 times each winter to 1. |

05.23.26 | drink half your body weight in water a day. take vitamins especially zinc daily. wash your hands religiously (obvious but you'd be surprised). exercise and get some sunlight.
even my sickly decrepit ass avoids stuff for the most part. |

05.23.26 | There are few things in this world I despise more than the common cold.
Chicken noodle soup, Sprite, and Dayquil to sleep it off. The white trash remedy works like a charm. Also, be sure to drink tons of water. |
