Music Snapshots Part II

I made a list called Music Snapshots Part I. This is Music Snapshots Part II.
190 Day Men
To Everybody

"A National Car Crash" (2:14-2:58)

There's a long intro and verse that sounds nice enough, but when the piano comes in the song is lifted so much for me. And that's despite it almost seeming free form, and a little more boisterous than everything else. But that's also something I like about it, the unexpected nature and the sort of incongruence.
2Protest the Hero
Kezia

"No Stars Over Bethlehem" (0:36-1:06)

It's been said, but crazy they wrote this at the ages they were. Lyrically this is by far their most interesting album and this song has to be my favorite in that respect. This first verse is also just a really good example of what early PTH was.
3Tears for Fears
Songs from the Big Chair

"The Working Hour" (2:42-3:10)

EWTRTW is damn near the best song of all time, but really all of side one of this album is ludicrous. I picked this track because of the transition from the first chorus to the second verse. The density of sound increases, the sax goes crazy with trills, and it maintains to smoothly move into a second verse. The busier sounding second verse really gives the sense of building and momentum that, on top of everything else about this song, is really satisfying.
4Holy Fawn
Dimensional Bleed

"Beneath A Lightless Star" (2:18-2:58)

My favorite song from last year...can these people get a new album out already! The clean section of this is unreal, and the vocal melodies are what get me more than anything else. I still can't make out at least half the lyrics, and what I think I know could easily be wrong, so as soon as I can properly sing along to this really badly in the car it will only increase my enjoyment of it.
5The Antlers
Familiars

"Hotel" (1:02-2:00)

Difficult to choose between several songs off this, and their catalog even moreso. This is a little more of a dark horse pick for me, I don't even think it's the best song of this album. BUT in terms of moments or sections, which is the purpose of these lists, this stood out to me. Silberman goes off, and the alternating between his wails and the horns make for some real magic. The relative minimalism of everything else let's all that shine as well, making a big impact on an album full of beautiful moments.
