| rec me some tool
tool was one of those bands I never really got into and probably shouldn't, a couple of songs caught my ear in the past but never stuck. maybe take a look at my ratings and rec me tool you think I could get into? | | 1 | | Animals As Leaders The Madness of Many
I put this here because I feel like this album/band is the closest I've ever gotten to enjoying "the tool sound" so to speak | |

12.19.25 | I feel like the songs that perfectly encapsulate what I love about tool so much are The Grudge and Pushit. So I'll rec those | NudeTayne

12.19.25 | Nice m/ | CaliggyJack
12.19.25 | Star with 10,000 Days, the Fear Inoculum. Those are their most accessible albums. | NudeTayne
12.19.25 | any songs in particular you would rec or would you say that's just a baseline to start off of | evilford
12.19.25 | While they *are* more accessible, an argument can be made that the quality of those albums compared to the likes of Ænima and Lateralus would leave something to be desired for the listener
FI in particular was an absolute slog to get thru for me | el_newg
12.19.25 | The Grudge for sure, and Parabola for songs. but yea check Aenima or Lateralus if yr thinkin of going for a full album | Hawks
12.19.25 | Tool blows. | JWT155
12.19.25 | 7empest | arthropod
12.19.25 | [2]
I started with Schism and Sober, that is: the only song on Lateralus that isn't bloated and a fine piece of grunge. I'd also rec Ticks & Leeches for the best Tool chorus, 7empest for dope guitar leads and Pneuma for doing the Lateralus formula better than the original. |
