Panda Bear Ranked
Panda Bear Cancelled his show :'(
Might as well make a list.. |
| 6 | | Panda Bear Young Prayer
The more acoustic minimal sound of Animal Collective early days and this one just doesn't do much for me.
Some may love the early years better but for me the colourful later years is where it's at. |
| 5 | | Panda Bear Buoys
This was a hard listen. the auto tune makes the whole thing sound quite silly.
It loses the big sound but try's to be more artistics but for me it does not work.
Overall it is still more of a fun listen then Young Prayer. |
| 4 | | Panda Bear Tomboy
As follow up to Person Pitch i was quite excited butit disappointed me a bit.
Darker and less lush. Shorter songs with less focus on sampling. It made for a less exciting listen. |
| 3 | | Panda Bear Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper
PBMTG is a more chaotic beast. More frantically happy then Tom Boy. It sounds fresher and livelier but is able to keep some pop appeal while being quite artistic at times. |
| 2 | | Panda Bear Sinister Grift
Where PBMTG focusses more on rhytm, Sinister Grift is more focused on beautiful melodies. Calling back to the Beach Boys. Panda Bear was able to take the Person Pitch sound and keep the lushness but make it more compact and digestable without losing the emotional weight. |
| 1 | | Panda Bear Person Pitch
Underrated IMO. it is a very important album and a true classic.
As it is vibrant and did things with production not often seen in the indie realms.
Breaking boundaries with 12 minute long Beach Boy's esque epics. |
