Top 10 - Are they good, or just occasionaly lucky?
Sometimes an artist career is so inconsistent that you wonder if they even know what they are doing or just sometimes struck by luck?
It is ranked, let me know if you agree or if i have missed some artists. |
| 10 | | Green Day Saviors
Look, every band can have a bit of a miss step with Warning. happens to the best of us. and if you make a triple album i can get why a lot of it is bad. (though why do it in the first place?) but how can you come back from FOAM?
and then they came back... |
| 9 | | Interpol Turn on the Bright Lights
Interpol came out with the most amazing dark sound. reminding people of Joy Division.
While their next few albums didn't achieve the same greatness as the first one, they still could tickle the same bone. The self titled record though was such a drag... they redeemed themselves with El Pintor. only to get back to drag.. |
| 8 | | Logic The Incredible True Story
While short of greatness, there are some good records in his discography. and some stinkers.
The most baffling are the ones when he go's from one to another. |
| 7 | | Liz Phair Liz Phair
Liz Phair is here not because she sprinkled some good albums with her bad albums. after she lost her touch she didn't make another good album. She is here because it seems that after the first few she completely forgot that it was her gritty heartfelt lyrics and sound that made her music work. |
| 6 | | Linkin Park Hybrid Theory
The soundtrack to every angsty teenager in the 2000's. they fell off in the late 2000's but then returned with the Hunting Party, only to then have the worst album of their career. |
| 5 | | The Strokes The New Abnormal
Maybe the most talked about band of the 2000's. but after the first 2 albums they couldn't quite hit the same high's. people thought that was it but then they actually came back with a good album. |
| 4 | | Kid Cudi Man on the Moon: The End of Day
Kid Cudi came swinging with a new sound for the mainstream. But after that is has been a career of high high's and astonishingly low low's. |
| 3 | | Iggy Pop American Caesar
An absolute icon in music. more known for that then being a musical genius. And the albums reflect that. You can skip a lot of his career but every know and then the planets alligned and Iggy was struck with lightning and made a classic. |
| 2 | | Weezer Hurley
After a big rut they had they started getting back into it after Hurley. Peaking with the White Album and then immediately falling back into even bigger trash. |
| 1 | | Lou Reed Metal Machine Music
Never ever have i seen an artist go from complete masterpiece to trash so often.
With such a long running career it is amazing that he was able to both make great music and shit in almost every decade. |
