10 actually good dutch music groups
Obviously having music in dutch will severly limit the amount of people that will enjoy it.
But while most of it can easily be skipped, there is some stuff that i would actually recommend.
A lot of it won't be in sput's database though so i can't list them all but i will list what i can. |

Electronic heavy music combined with thoughtfull and well written lyrics. But most are still very catchy and will thug on the heartstrings (if you can understand dutch that is) |

I mean, will i listen to very commercial Dance pop? no.
Is Tiësto essential for dance music and did he help make the Netherlands a household name in dance? Yes Absolutely. |

THE band every dutch person will name when you ask if there are any good dutch bands.
Making some great rock classics including Radar Love, Twilight Zone, When The lady Smiles and Another 45 Miles. |

Skunk
A personal favourite of mine. A ska band of the 80's that had incredible succes.
If you would like to try a song i recommend Belle Helene. Though it is probably better if you don't understand the lyrics. :') |

A very influental artist in Holland and the rest of the world. embodying the sex drugs and rock and roll. And having that very open spirit dutch people are known for.
knowadays probably more known for his paintings then his music but still a very important figure in the dutch creative space. |

Most known for their hit Hocus Pocus which is an amazing prog rock song including jodeling.
If you want to see something hilarious, watch their 73 live performence of the song where they only had 5 minutes to play so where asked to play a shorter version. they refused and instead played the song waaay faster. |

The Party Album
I don't know about you guys but this is still on high rotation on dutch radio. (though admiddetly mostly as guilty pleasure music)
Still, it was very populair eurodance music that for most people will never leave their head. |

Umoja
A band where the lyrics are the center stage. often very poetic soft rock songs.
Wether you like them or not hangs completely on wether you like the lyrics. though they have some hits like "Alles is Liefde"
They recorded a different version of Holiday in Spain with the Counting Crows making quite a big hit here. |
