PJ's Annual Spin List & Rec Request

What's up Sputfucks? Been a while. I was on here a lot more when I last had a solid desk job where I'm not micromanaged like a slave and guess what? This guy is back in the saddle working data entry with minimal manager interference, so you guys are still stuck with me. I've been on a big kick of cycling back through some rock & metal classics I grew up on in response to Ozzy's passing and I'm also about to start a new band focusing on grunge/modern heavy shoegaze so I'm looking for any underrated recs you may have in relation to the bands below. Let's get to it!
1Alice in Chains
Dirt

I have never delved deeply into the lesser known grunge bands because it's always felt like almost nothing could really measure up to this album and some of the Soundgarden stuff. I don't like Nirvana much and Vedder makes Pearl Jam hard to enjoy. Might try STP but I honestly enjoy the AIC formula best because of their heavier edge. Anything like that or Soundgarden's authentic approach would be ideal!
2Mudvayne
L.D. 50

Another album I adore that feels impossible for other bands to replicate the quality of in this particular blend of styles.
3Pantera
Far Beyond Driven

I'm a broken record but between Cowboys and Trendkill is another run that seems to have no equal in terms of groove metal. Then again I haven't looked much because I don't wanna waste my time on pale imitations. I'm counting on y'all to tell me if anyone else measures up to Vinnie and Dime or not.
4Nothing
The Great Dismal

If my next band can't capture the sonic perfection behind this record I might just give up. I wanted my last shoegaze band to go for this sound too but these guys are incredible and always have awesome engineers. Very hard to replicate this well imo.
5Sevendust
Home

Is this considered alternative metal? I have never liked most alternative metal much in the past and sometimes the singer's voice seems to be an odd pairing with their instrumentals but it's unique and fun to me.
