07.02.25 | would've put more albums with descriptions but the page always times out when I take longer than 15 minutes to make a list now |
Chippe
07.02.25 | If you never heard Kauan, give Sorni Nai and/or Pirut a chance. Beautiful doomesque music. Originally a russian band singing/growling in finnish. Maybe not the perfect summer records but played regularly in my cans |
gabba

Big|Brave - Vital
Sentries - Gem of the West |
Flashmobba
07.02.25 | don’t see it in your ratings, so A Perfect Circle’s Thirteenth Step. To me, the most powerful and well done album about addiction ever |
bach

bach
07.02.25 | Arthop ngl hear me now by framing hanley goes in. Also i did try listening to that a7x album but wasn't really feeling it. cool that they're trying new stuff out though. My favorite from them has gotta be sounding of the 7th trumpet |
bach

bach
07.02.25 | thanks for the recs in general everyone! I'll try to check out at least one rec from every1 |
Jurtz
07.02.25 | An album that moved me and continues to move me with every listen is October Tide - Rain Without End |
arthropod
07.02.25 | Yeah, Hear Me Now is a jam. STST too, the drumming is insane.
A Promise To Burn got some shit back in the day for being radio fodder, but I'm telling you: it's loaded with hooks and actually a full blown concept record, with lyrical overlaps, musical reiterations and all. Works well. |
Hawks
07.02.25 | Warning - Watching from a Distance |
mkmusic1995
07.02.25 | Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell |
bach
07.02.25 | brutally vulnerable record Hawks. U always know the good shit |
bach
07.02.25 | Carrie & Lowell also very brutal record. Listened to that one quite a bit when it dropped. pretty much a day ruiner and I mean that in the best possible way. In the same way "a crow looked at me" is |
EphemeralEternity
07.02.25 | bodychoke - cold river songs
underrated gothic noise rock with one of the guys who was in whitehouse |
Hawks
07.02.25 | "brutally vulnerable record Hawks. U always know the good shit"
Hell yeah bro! Most emotionally draining album ever made. |
Butkuiss
07.02.25 | Rollins Band - End of Silence |
mkmusic1995
07.02.25 | "Carrie & Lowell also very brutal record. Listened to that one quite a bit when it dropped. pretty much a day ruiner and I mean that in the best possible way. In the same way "a crow looked at me" is"
Not a record I listen to often because as you know, just a brutal, devastating listen but I revisted it with the rerelease this year with the bonus tracks and my lord, it just made me feel things all over again, like it was the first time I had heard Sufjan's voice. One of those records that holds a special place for me. |
IAmScott
07.02.25 | I was listening to king gizz' new album and had to move to turn the speaker off |
MTObsidian
07.02.25 | Death Cab For Cutie - "Plans" (The whole album is pretty moving, but in particular the lyrics for "Brothers on a Hotel Bed" hit me like a truck every time)
Killer Mike - "Michael" (weird rec I'm sure, but I lost my mom and grandma a couple years back within less than 6 months of each other and this album came out around that time; while this album has some self-inflation/circle-jerk tracks, the ones about losing his mom and things not being the same were particularly heavy to me) |
MTObsidian
07.02.25 | Oh, and also: Deafheaven - "Lonely People With Power" (just an all-around beautiful, phenomenal album) |
MTObsidian
07.02.25 | @mkmusic that first track on "Carrie & Lowell" guts me almost every time too |
EphemeralEternity
07.02.25 | my sister called him soft-john (wasn't trying to be funny) and I almost spat out my rat milk |
MTObsidian
07.02.25 | "my sister called him soft-john (wasn't trying to be funny) and I almost spat out my rat milk"
I can understand not knowing the "j" is soft like a "y" but "suf-"="soft" is absolutely wild to me |
Valzentia
07.02.25 | Get Scared - The Dead Days |
cylinder
07.02.25 | Andy Guthrie - Blemished
It’s a mix of singer-songwriter type stuff and field recordings of the places that inspired the songs. Incredibly intimate and affecting |
jrlikestodance
07.02.25 | Maxwell - Embrya
Peak late 90s Neo soul |
Snake.
07.02.25 | the front bottoms s/t

RogueNine
07.03.25 | Palm Reader - Sleepless has some good feelz. |
naughtcturnal
07.03.25 | Anathema - Judgement got me balling my eyes out 10 beers deep in my undies at 3 am on a sunday morning |
farmerobama
07.03.25 | Robert Wyatt - Rock Bottom |
bach
07.04.25 | Anathema is sick naughtcturnal. Judgement was the first one I heard i like 15 when I first jammed. Ridiculously good band and album.
@jr
Love Maxwell and that album especially. If I dont already have it 5'd here im about to |
bach
07.04.25 | @ snake lol I hate anything remotely folk punk dude. In like 11th grade I had slight phase where I loved ramshackle glory and ajj. Dark days |
bach
07.04.25 | @ scott
Never been big into those guys but i saw something about the new album being brass heavy so on principle, probably won't check it. Black Midi was dope for me before got they hired a full brass ensemble |
bach
07.04.25 | Definitely gotta check bodychoke Ephemeral. Love consumer electronics and cut hands so definitely looking forward to this one |
SuzyC
07.04.25 | Albums that moved me? There are quite many of them, but I'll go ahead and list these three incredible Killing Joke abums: 'Absolute Dissent' (2010), 'MMXII' (2012), and 'Pylon' (2015). |
rockarollacola
07.04.25 | Streets: A Rock Opera - Savatage
This album was actually helped me climb out of a deep depression I was in back in 2020. |
SharkTooth
07.04.25 | my music that moved me is mostly emo punk so idk if you'd want to listen
Lil Ugly Mane - Volcanic Bird Enemy
Mom Jeans. - Sweet Tooth
The Wonder Years - The Greatest Generation
Origami Angel - Gami Gang
and the first two songs in Agalloch's The Mantle.
I don't think these choices are gonna blow anyone away, they're just the albums that emotionally resonate with me these days. |
bach
07.04.25 | Tbh SuzyQ im a huge fan of killing joke's 80s output so I'm gonna have to get on those |
Dedes
07.04.25 | Hulk Hogan and the Wrestling Boot Band-Hulk Rules |
