06.07.25 | having strep throat is the worst my body has felt illness wise. would not recommend. |
Koris
06.07.25 | Oh man... for me, it was when I got the norovirus back in December of 2015. I was so sick that I could barely get out of bed, and even something as light as saltine crackers would be enough to make me shuffle to the bathroom and violently throw up for 10 minutes. I'd say I lost around 20 pounds from that week alone, lol
(Dis)honorable mention goes to my first week in Navy boot camp, where I had food poisoning from an airport restaurant prior to training. Imagine all the drill instructors (or RDCs, as we call them) screaming at you as you're constantly trying not to throw up or shit yourself... just makes a rough situation even worse |

06.07.25 | The tooth was bad, had it yanked out but a few weeks later I started to feel very rough.
I then had a period of constant diarrhoea and when I mean constant I’m talking dysentery level which set the alarm bells ringing.
I was in no fit state to do anything, had the mother of all headaches and was taken to the doctor by me mum God Bless her.
The Dr without even saying anything and just looking at me said ‘now then, you really are ill’ lol.
I then described my symptoms and was rushed to hospital where I was quarantined the lot.
Mental.

06.07.25 | Caught COVID during the original lockdown, and I have to admit I was fucked.
I had long lasting severe fatigue and difficulty breathing for months. Even just talking at normal volume for a few minutes would result in me having to stop and catch my breath, it felt like I had been jogging.
Not fun. |
twlight
06.07.25 | First couple rounds of covid were heavy. True. Let’s be honest |

06.07.25 | Glad you’re good now aer… |

06.07.25 | i got thru my twenties without catching a cold and theeen i caught covid in like 2021 and had a 102-104 fever for like 4-5 days straight, basically the more i remained upright the higher my tempature would get shit sucked. caught it a few more times but swear after that 1st time my metabolisms been fucked and gained weight despite not changing diet/exercise habits/etc
other highlights would be as a kid throwing up like 12 times in the span of 5 hours and as a teen caught some sort of food poisoning where i had the runs every 20 minutes, lost 15+pounds in a week than eventually went to the doctor and had to get tested for parasites. ummm being too broke for a root canal and taking either aspirin/tyleonal/ibuprofen/etc every 2 hours for like 3 weeks straight probably did a number on my kidney |

06.07.25 | "Glad you’re good now aer…"

06.07.25 | oo pneumonia a year and a half ago, was as good as unconscious for like two weeks straight, didn't get the right antibiotics at first, and even after "recovering" i couldn't walk for 5 minutes without my lungs being in excruciating pain. took me about 6 months to get back to being able to run the distance/pace i ran pre-pneumonia (shoutout to runkeeper stats for providing a way to track my recovery progress lol) |

06.07.25 | Fucking pneumonia. Hope you’re good now Jesper |

06.07.25 | Had a kidney infection that my doctor thought was an std. He told me with a straight face men my age(21 at the time in California not Texas or wherever user wildcard lives) don’t get kidney infections..
Treated me for an std even though I was in a serious relationship with a very trustworthy broad(that was an awkward conversation!). Proceed to get sicker after he gave me some shot out of an insanely long needle. He then sent me down to get my blood tested for hiv and I passed out in the lobby(fever was 103).
For about three weeks I had a fever, strep throat like pain in my throat, severe chills, body aches and pain you wouldn’t believe in my lower back. Worst symptom was the painful urine though! I was peeing blood clots and yellow discharge constantly and barely making any actual urine. Couldn’t sleep couldn’t eat. Horrible. Finally get results from my tests and the doctor calls me saying “oops you DO have a kidney infection”.
Had to be on penicillin for 2 months and absolutely no alcohol. Monthly kidney scans for the next year. They claimed no permanent damage but I get lower back pain in that area when I drink or eat poorly. Thanks doc! |

06.07.25 | God dammit uncle. |

06.07.25 | You have to do what you need to to remove pain. Bro you can. Alcohol is shit. It’s fun but shit |

06.07.25 | Uncle. You’re alive. You asshole. |

06.07.25 | Alcohol is indeed lame and poison but that’s not what caused the infection. My new doctor said it was likely a uti left untreated by the previous idiot doctor who claimed utis/kidney infections aren’t common in men so just drink more water and practice safe sex lol |

06.07.25 | I’m indeed alive and a butthole but I’m sober and only drink water now! It’s been years since I’ve been able to excuse my poor behavior on this site by claiming I was off the henny. Bummer! |

06.07.25 | My worst illness was probably during my first year at uni, I ended up with freshers flu that then compounded into a combination of tonsillitis and a chest infection. I stupidly tried to push through and go to lectures even though the weather was almost always rainy, windy and really cold. Ended up bed ridden for about a month and a half, even just getting up to go to the toilet made me feel like I was gonna pass out and talking was stupidly painful. Tonsillitis may not be the worst illness in the world to catch but my god having it with a chest infection at the same time was horrible, it's made even worse by the fact tonsils are practically useless and apparently you can still catch it even if you get the fucking things removed. |

06.07.25 | Friend gave me h1n1 back in 09 that put me out for a good week or so (way worse than covid.) Also in college I got a staph infection in my stomach which I had to take amoxicillin for, it felt like I got shot tbh. |
YoYoMancuso
06.07.25 | I had a case of pneumonia in 2019 that lasted for over 3 months because the doctor thought it was just a "cough" and didn't give me antibiotics until I had a fever of 102F |

06.07.25 | Got really bad bronchitis when I was like 19 from cigs and was home sick for 2 weeks. Missed a Weekend Nachos/Dead in the Dirt/Full of Hell show and it convinced me to never smoke em again |

06.07.25 | Covid didn’t hit me that bad, just slept for two days, then spent the other three of my mandated 5 days off watching movies all day.
When I was in high school, I had bronchitis, pneumonia, a sinus infection, and a double ear infection that went untreated for almost a month because my mom thought I was faking it to get out of school. That was absolutely miserable, breathing was painful just sitting and even worse when doing anything even slightly physical, I was completely out of it mentally. |

06.07.25 | i got a blood infection after shooting up and it spread through my body and i almost died it was fuckin nuts |

06.07.25 | I had swine flu in the 7th grade and pneumonia in the 8th. I was hospitalized for both. I genuinely thought i was going to die when i had swine flu, i remember trying to go down the stairs and it took me 8 hours; i basically passed out after each step. |

06.08.25 | fall of 2015, 19yo, first semester in college, gf gave me mono, then got strep on top of it, then had allergic reactions to the first 2 antibiotics they tried. throat swelled completely shut on 3 occasions. couldn't swallow anything, even my own saliva. couldn't sleep. could barely speak. in and out of ER on a weekly basis for 2 months. finally get better and go back to campus to immediately hear reputable hearsay the gf cheated on me the first week I was gone. somehow passed finals. recorded some dumb bitter emo tunes in the process. still the clincher
last year was not fun either though. caught e coli (how? still don't know) which led to c diff. both went untreated for 2 months because docs insisted it was just my chronic IBS (does that explain the hours-long daily diarrhea? the unending migraines? c'mon now). then they finally caved and let me take a stool test to confirm something was up. I go to post the stool test to the lab and it gets seemingly lost in the mail thanks to a once-in-a-century (we'll see about that) flood in my area. months later, get antibiotics, they kill the infections but the colon was in overdrive so bad by then the symptoms remained until I got a colonoscopy and diagnosis of lymphocytic colitis. eventually resolved but it completely derailed my august-november last year. |

06.08.25 | Between 2023 and 2024 I was hospitalized probably...6 or 7 times total. I would suddenly come down with intractable vomiting out of nowhere, like CONSTANT. I couldn't keep down food or fluids which would lead to severe dehydration and a couple of times some pretty nasty kidney damage. At one point I went 15 days without food, and pretty much every time when I was able to eat again I'd get painful leg edemas from the sudden reintroduction of sodium. Multiple times I was taken in by family members completely unable to breathe, blacking out trying to get in the car, etc.
To this day nobody has a distinct answer for what caused all this. I've been diagnosed with severe GERD and I'm on daily medication for it, but ever since I finally moved the problem just stopped. |
Trebor.
06.08.25 | I've had chronic migraines since age 6, so that |

06.10.25 | In 2007 I contracted something, though, still no clue what it was, but it practically made me deaf for a couple weeks. I was going to art school at the time, and had to sit right by the teacher to hear them. It was totally fucked. Teachers were annoyed. I was annoyed. It was horrible. I wondered if I'd be permanently nearly deaf forever, but fortunately antibiotics ended up taking care of it. Never want to go through that again. Now I'm just fuck my ears with music |

06.12.25 | Fuck every sickness. And hope it never hits you again |
